Remarks :

Very good college with good faculty and lots of exposure due to high number of patients, both coming to outpatient department as well as those getting admitted for treatment or surgery. Life in the hostel is pretty chill. During exams it gets a bit hectic.

Course Curriculum Overview :

MBBS is very hectic. There are nine semesters. Thus, we have to answer nine semester exams that have subjective structure followed by practical exams. Consists of first, second and third MBBS part 1 and 2. Second MBBS consists of one and half year.

Placement Experience :

There is compulsory internship for one year after completing MBBS (in all medical colleges) wherein students are posted in all the department's for variable duration. The stipend is around 20,000 per month as an intern.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee structure is quite feasible considering it being a medical college. The fees change every year for every new batch but they remain the same throughout the course for a particular batch. The fees are different for General students and for SC/ST/OBC students. Fees are collected every 6 months and for the current new batch it is about Rs 50000 per semester.

Campus Life :

Since the College comes under Goa university, there are several university sports events organised by Goa university for all colleges that come under it. Includes football, basketball, cricket, swimming, table tennis, badminton and so on.

Alumni/Alumna :

Yes, seniors help a lot through advice and passing on their notes to their juniors every year. Some seniors also teach their juniors as and when they get some free time. Thus, they also revise the MBBS syllabus for their NEET of.

Admission :

I got admission in to the college through my NEET score. NEET is conducted in the month of May and the results are out by mid-June. I scored 560 in NEET and applied for counselling process. Then I got this college in my counselling and went ahead for the admission.

Faculty :

The faculty of the college is very dedicated and hardworking. The faculty of the college consists of brilliant doctors who not only have a great deal of experience in teaching but also great amount of experience in the medical practice itself. The faculty does a great work in providing the best of medical education in the simplest and interesting way. They not only help in the field of education but also for all round development of students to become better and responsible people of the society.

Goa medical college follows the CBME guidlines prescribed by NMC. There are 2-3 hours of lectures every day and there are clinics rotation in the wards. 1st and 2nd year students have lot of journal work

Visiting the interiors!

Placement Experience:

Final students are eligible for placements. Companies such as turtle mint, findem, Nokia, IFB, Samsung, Adani power, HDFC Bank, Tesco, Upskill, ONGC, Jio, and many more. Last year almost everyone got placed. Average package is 10 LPA. This year though placements were not as expected because of economic depression. Even after the placements, lay offs have become common. Hence to cope up with the competition we need to keep upskilling.

BITS Pilani - It's truly magic ?

Placement Experience:

The campus placement of my college is great. The complanies that recruit from my college are from tech, core and finance. My college is a Tier 1 college so the placements are also in the upper strata. The overall avg package of campus is around 15 lakhs and avg package of CS department reaches 30 lakhs. 90% of the batch gets placed and the rest of the students either go for higher studies or start their own startup.

Go BITS Goa, Gone!

Remarks:

BITS is one the top engg colleges in the country. It deveops the student as a whole. I already mentioned all the goods and the bads.One thing i would like to focus is regarsing our education system. Our system doesnt allow us to think logically and with our free mind. Our career decision are influenced by our parents and the amount of pay the career offers. Its only during our college life we finds our interests and passion. And sometimes its gets a little late.BITS although being the top engg. college, doesnt promote true knowledge and learning. Resulting in students to more worry about their grades than actually what they learned.
