Remarks :
Our college is overall an excellent college to be an engineer but the only problem is of thr infrastructure which is very old and also the college do not have a well defined wall boundary.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Yes most of the course curriculum is relevant and is enough to make us a better professional. Our curriculum also gives a fair chance to everyone irrespective of any objection. We get regular Assignments, homeworks to revise the taught topics. Also we have regular class test organised. The courses are very much industry Specific so we have a good time understanding the machines. Also we have Workshops which teach us to use commom machines and things like welding, grinding, Lathe machine, Drilling etc.
Placement Experience :
Yes the placement is good and also internship is made available to everyone. We get regular messages on the availability of internships. Some are even paid ones. Also our college has rules of some compulsory internships to be done in order to attain some experience.
College Events :
We have PyroKinesis- the college fest. Then various other college functions and competitions, then the College week, Amar Nixa etc. The PyroKinesis is the main fest and everyone is enthusiastic about it. People from all over assam comes, visit and participate in the 4 day long function. The college week is the sport festival week where different sports competitions are held between our students. We have dance, music, art, parade etc competitions.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Very much feasible. Our college generally accepts demand draft or Online portal payment. There are some minimal additional fees that had to be paid to secure an admission but each and every bills paid are being transparent and we are being shown for why the payment was being taken.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Yes I did apply, I had to apply it through the scholarship cell of our college and it was painlessly done with the help of our student union.
Campus Life :
We have 40-60 girl to boy ratio, we occasionally do birthday parties and other similar parties. There are regular competitions held on various platforms in our college. Also there's enough opportunities for workshops here. We have students from diverse backgrounds which helps us learn about various other cultures.
Hostel Facilities :
Yes I opted for hostel. For 1st year we get to stay in Dormitories and from 2nd yr onwards we get rooms shared by 3. There is also many PG's available in our locality which are very much affordable with all the amenities available 24*7. Also there's enough rooms for students in hostels.
Alumni/Alumna :
Yes, the alumni network is very strong on AEC. Our alumni association helps the college decide on various things like placement offers and also on scholarship and internships. They also helps students motivate to work harder and graduate as a successful Engineer.
Admission :
I applied for CEE entrance examination and got a respectable rank which allowed me to get a seat in this prestigious college of Assam. We were called for counseling round where we had chosen our desired branch. It was 1st organised at AIE, Guwahati where we finalised our College and Branch. There are mainly 4 colleges under CEE exam. On 18th of July,2019 we went to our chosen college where we took our last step of admission, paying all our fees and finalising our seat.
Faculty :
The faculty depends from department to department. Some has very good teachers while some lack in it. It's just my personal opinion. The lectures are informative. We have a minimum of 4 lectures in a day and sometimes 6 depending on the availability of the teacher. Most of the teachers are either Professors or some are masters with a lot of valuable experience. The lectures are very much industry relevant and helps us understand the components easily.
