Ummul Jafri's Review On Bharati Vidyapeeth College Of Architecture - [BVCOA] Navi Mumbai, Mumbai

Remarks :

Just the boring infrastructure of my college needs an upgrade.

Course Curriculum Overview :

It's a good course. The course curriculum is good but a little bit of pressurising because there's a lot of syllabus for students like us. Especially if someone's a fresher they get burdened with a lot of work at first, we get the hang of it but then we get more subjects and syllabus.

Placement Experience :

No placement what so ever in my college which sucks big time becuase that's what a student expects most out of in their choice of college but apparently architecture colleges don't do placement

College Events :

My college celebrate freshers, navratri (small gathering) one yearly function (two day event) which is the most fun of all. Navratri is just us dressing up for the nine days and attending college and Dancing on the last day to cheapest sound systems. They try to save as much money. We also have an exhibition which displays our work supervised by teachers.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

I pay by DD 1,10,000 per year excluding the exam fee which is submitted twice a year 3,500 for a person who has no ATKT (backs in subject) 6,000 for one or two and more and more for students with Yd have to pay 9,000 roughly in the exam cell.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

None, that I know of in my college. They do have management quota but I don't know much about that.

Campus Life :

Gender ratio is my university is a little difficult to tell but in my college it is more girls and lesser boys. In a class of 80 we have 30 boys and rest girls. Of course there are some criptic teachers who are favourable towards guys and I've seen discrimination in their eyes.

Hostel Facilities :

I did in the first year it was affiliated with my college because other college hostels are scary which are present in the campus. There is a new and well organised hostel which is double the price of my course fee.

Alumni/Alumna :

None of the alumni I've talked to because I'm a second year student and just started developing contact with the super seniors of my college

Admission :

I took architecture because it is a combination of concepts and creativity which sounded perfect for me. I applied through their online application then I got a mail for counseling and then I got admitted after getting short-listed. I had to wait for a week or more after the counselling session.

Faculty :

Around 8 subjects for a semester, council of architecture accepts students from age 16 and above. All my professors are graduates with architecture and some even have a PhD in different branches of it. The principal is also a PhD and most teachers have masters degree in architecture.

Placement Experience:

Students get campus placement after last yr. Although they become eligible for internship after 3rd yr University exams . Some students get the opportunity to go to France through students exchange programme in 4th yr for 11 months.

Placement Experience:

The campus provides placements for 5th-year and 3rd-year ID students. There are about 10-15 companies that come for placements. The average package of the company would be roughly 2,50,000 to 3,00,000.

Placement Experience:

campus placement is generally eligible in the last year. for architecture, the term campus placement is not fitting in this college. there is only a single company taking students from here in the name of campus placement. the intake is less than 5 students out of 80. more students go for starting a firm by their own or do post-graduation. i think ill do the post graduation after my degree.

Placement Experience:

No, our college does not provide any internships and placements but they take full responsibility for the student as a part of their culture.

Admission:

Admissions into any architectural university nowadays are purely through NATA. This university doesn't choose to differ as well. The minimum marks to be scored in boards is 50% with PCM as the stream. The candidate has to apply online and pay the fee online too.

Placement Experience:

There are very little/no placements as of now. But the student can take up internship programs if he/she is interested with stipend. The college doesn't provide them stipend. The college however grooms us well to face situations like placements.

Admission:

I wrote JEE mains and NATA as I was very determined in getting into architecture someway or the other. Luckily I got into B.Arch at TSAP with my NATA score and Board score cumulative. One has to score a minimum of 50% in his/her boards. The NATA and JEE mains cut off varies from year to year.

Placement Experience:

Placement training at TSAP is excellent, we have frequent workshops, the institute even takes up live projects where students could lend a hand. Most of them do their post-graduation and the rest of them get placed in firms for experiencing a job.
