Remarks :
My college is excelling in academics. Faculties are more concerned for the betterment in academics. One thing that I observed less is extracurricular activity participation. Hostel facility needed to be improved with all my serious concern. Infrastructure should be increased and maintained well. Alumni meet and other related activities should be initiated. Campus placement should be conducted in the college.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course was designed and followed the annual system. The final exam was conducted yearly but midterm exams were also conducted in mid of the year. It was relevant but not research-driven. Exams were being conducted to pass the course nothing extra approach was there behind conducting the exams and practical.
Placement Experience :
No companies visited the campus for their placement drives, for my course. There were no trend of campus placement.
College Events :
Annual day, student fest, NSS camps, NCC training are some activities hold by our college. Some time inter-college youth festival also has been carried out by the college. Rojgar Mela kind of fare also goes within the college. Participation in the above activities were good.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
It was five thousand rupees annual fee for my course i. e BSc. Biotechnology. The mode of payment was offline. Additional fees like examination fees were also collected by the college. Since it was a government college the fee structure was feasible. Yes, the college provides transparency in the fee-breakdown.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Yes, I received a scholarship from DST but not from college. College does have very few scholarships. Excelling in academics was the eligibility criteria to avail their scholarship.
Campus Life :
Campus life was awesome and the gender ratio was 1:1 in my course. Labs experiments were nicely conducted with full enthusiasm. Student fest was being conducted annually by the student association of college. Other extracurricular and sports competitions were also good.
Hostel Facilities :
Yes, I had accommodated college hostel. There was single hostel in the college and it was for girls. Hostel was in pathetic condition. Rooms were on sharing basis and on room was shared by 5 girls. Washrooms were in so bad condition without tubelight. If one has to use them in dark then they had to carry torch with them. No proper electricity connection was there in rooms. Even the room which I accommodated was without almirah. I had a horrible experience in that hostel. For boys there was no single hostel in the college. Food charges was so high and that does not meet quality standards.
Alumni/Alumna :
Alumni network is not so active in the college. Seniors are helpful. No such formal interaction we had with our alumni so not in any way it has affected my experience.
Admission :
I had keen interest in Biotechnology that's why I chose this for my graduation course. Firstly I filled the prospectus of the college and mentioned the course which I wanted to opt then after the scrutiny of academic background I was shortlisted for the personal interview. I qualified the interview and hence got enrolled into the the course.
Faculty :
5 lectures were there in my course with the average age 40 and the majority of them were PhDs. They were good in their subjects and made their student learn best of their knowledge None of the lecturers holds any relevant industry-experience or certifications. Additionally, I would like to add about the unavailability of permanent lecturer for my biotechnology subject.
