Remarks :
College management is good. University overall is good but lacks effective communication system.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course structure is really good. It is up to date with the updated curriculum. After completing the course the student becomes eligible enough to understand the post graduation course. The course has inculcated enormous knowledge and potential inside me to make me eligible for being a psychologist.
Placement Experience :
The placement department is under the TPO the training and placement Officer. Although my course isn't eligible enough to apply for placements but the rest of the courses get good placements.
College Events :
The functions celebrated in my university includes the youth fest, events related to various religious festivals, such as celebration of Diwali, guru parv, hariyali teej, as well as the events organised by University grants commission (UGC) which includes swacchhta pakhwada.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The course B.Sc. (Hons.) Psychology in Akal college of arts and social sciences charged me 1 lakh per year for the three year course, along with this charges of uniform, Xerox charges, security fees of 10,000 per year is also included. The amount of 1 lakh includes both hostel and course fees.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
I didn't opted for any scholarship. The reason behind this is I wasn't eligible to opt for it as the scholarship is for those who aren't financially stable.
Campus Life :
Gender ratio here is biased as it is a girl's university.camous life is lovely in the amidst of the mountains and clouds. Debates are held from time to time on various topics concerning to the event being celebrated. Labs are fully equipped with the curriculum.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel fees 50,000 (as in 2017) is included in the 1 lakh charged for the full course. The hostel facilities are good. Geysers are available and along with them there is a provision to use the warm water from the boilers which are run by the solar panels.
Alumni/Alumna :
The seniors here are really helpful and alumni network is strong. Time to time alumni meet is held to honour the students.
Admission :
I got my admission on the 28thof july 2017. Admission process required filling the form and attaching the required documents such as medical, character certificate, leaving certificate, and other such documents along with the photograph (passport-sized)
Faculty :
The faculty of my college is well trained and highly experienced in their respective fields of knowledge. The faculty here has deep knowledge about the subject and along with this they continuously make efforts to increase their subjective knowledge and make the course easily understandable.
