My College life

Remarks :

If one is expecting a top notch or atleast medium level college life and campus experience, this is not the place for you. Teachers and faculties will treat you like little kids, discouraging you from everything but studies. You will never find a mental balance if you are one of the above. If all you care is a place to study and have a degree in peace, then this is the right place for you. It have a beautiful ambience of nature. Since its study only you are after, the entire college from teachers to director will support you to any extend.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Our curriculum was strictly based on 'new found university' rules, which solely focused on academics and exams. An option for research driven study was not there. It was always like if you can copy paste the things from the textbooks, then there is a chance that you will pass exam. The academics were completely theoretical that most of the students dont know the real working. All they know is a set of words and sentences about it and phrases of some laws which governs it. Campus placements were conducted just for the sake of name, because most of the companies were not even related to engineering, and they dont want engineers either. They wanted sales boys and errand runners.

Placement Experience :

Some IT companies visited once for placement. And some cadd centres as well. About 10 percent of our students gots placed last year. The institution did took some measures like motivational classes and preparation classes for attending placement sessions.

College Events :

Technical and cultural fests were conducted most of the years, with as much participation as we could arrange. There wasnt a provision for other colleges to participate. Only students of our own college could participate. Most of the teachers wont give you much support to conduct a programme.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The Fee for my course in moderate compared to other colleges because they also provide scholarship reductions in it too. However they did had extra payments in the name of extra curricular payment. Which we saw nothing but our money being thrown out.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Yes the college did offer some scholarship opportunities in the name of their trust and have given fee reductions to students deserved. The eligibility criteria was excellence in academics without paperbacks.

Campus Life :

There were no parties or anything, except for some workshops conducted as part of technical fests. All types and classes of students were there without any disputes or problems. There wasnt any kinda of racialism or any of that sort. Neither campus politics were there. I guess the college saw to that the political life might cause an everlasting disputes and fights, so they chose to put it down. It was a politics free campus. There were sports activities but never up to the mark of athletics or Games. Mechanical labs were great, except for the location and maintenance. It can be called as a shed with holes in the aluminium roofs, as when it rains, water will seep throught it.

Alumni/Alumna :

Our seniors were nice and active. They treated us good mostly. Even after graduation, they helped us many times.

Admission :

I always had a keen interest on how machines and things works and its engineering. So I opted for Btech Mechanical. But because of some family problems, i had to go for the nearest college from my home and they made us take admission in management quota, even though i could've got seat in there by merit. So there wasn't much of an admission procedure.

Faculty :

Some faculties are well qualified but so used to the system of spoon feeding, that they forgot how to teach in reality. Some are just enthusiastic as the students itself. I think only a few have the industrial experience as far as I've known. And most of them dont have a voice in how academics should be.
