Remarks :
The main factors were accreditation, job prospects, networking, learning, freedom, etc. (not in an order). The atmosphere and the professors were great. The amount of alternatives provided to job market i.e. research, business perspectives, higher studies were one of the key points which made me opt for SRM. The situation remained the same after admission but many points were added to it. The hostel life was amazing. SRM is one of the best if you want to experience the so called college life.
Course Curriculum Overview :
There are many positives of SRM. Most important factor would be the fully flexible credit system. One student can customize (select) the subjects he/she wants to go for throughout the course.Faculties are great. Extremely helpful. Most of them have PhDs or pursuing one.
Internships Opportunities :
I have interned in 3 organizations throughout my bachelors. All of them were unpaid (thats the usual trend in India). They were ITC Limited, L&T Constructions & CESC Limited. One needs to approach the respective HRs of the organization to get such internships.
Placement Experience :
Pretty good. The university brought a lot of companies. Most of them were good and reputable ones. Obviously the highest number of recruiters were from the IT sector i.e. CTS, TCS, Infy, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, etc. Many many many startups were there, cant really mention their names but all are doing good.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Loans are available at the University from all banks. Their counters are placed inside the university during admission. University provides assistance in such cases where the student wants to apply for loan.
Campus Life :
Everything is present. SRM has a very good volleyball team. Throughout the year, various events related to sports keep taking place. SRM has one of the largest library and auditorium among universities in India.Highlight: It has one of the best labs. Students from other universities sometimes come to SRM to use lab equipment.
Hostel Facilities :
I spent 1 year in Hostel, so I do not have much idea regarding the current facilities. But during my time, they were triple sharing basis for the Non-Ac ones and the ones which had ACs had attached washrooms. It was mostly neat and clean. You make great friends there. There were separate laundry services present.
