Student's Review On Vivekananda Institute Of Professional Studies - [VIPS], New Delhi

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course syllabus is updated and very intriguing. It not only focuses well on the main subject but also motivates the students to grasp extra knowledge. Many activities are conducted within the school and among other schools as well. The college provides ample industrial exposure. All the teachers are very supportive and knowledgeable. They make sure to include innovative ways of teaching to keep the students engaged. During these times of lockdown throughout the country, they all are putting in their best efforts to cover the syllabus without any of us feeling burdened or bored. All the faculty of Vivekananda School of English Studies is worthy of appreciation.

Internships Opportunities :

I was hired by Inkshed Content Solutions as a Content Writing Intern. I applied for the internship through Internshala and was shortlisted to perform a final task for the selection process. The stipend amount was based on the number of words I wrote per article.

Placement Experience :

Since I am still in my first year of college, I won't be able to provide the best information about the placement cell of the college. But, from what I've heard and the facts, the college has a very satisfactory history of placements. Companies like Deloitte, Infosys, and TCS have visited the college and provided high-paying job offers.

College Events :

The campus life is very attractive. The college organizes two fests, one of which is a management fest organized entirely by the students of BBA. Another one is the official annual cultural fest of the college, known as SPANDAN. It is organized by the students of BJMC. This way the college helps students gain experience of management, responsibility, etc. The participation in both these fests is huge. The different schools of the college conduct guest lectures every now and then for both, the students and the teachers in which they invite well known professors and specialists to teach a little something about selected topics. The school of English studies has also come up with the initiative of an inter-college Literature Fest, the preparations of which had to be put to a pause due to the unexpected lockdown.

Campus Life :

There were two buildings, both fully air conditioned and spacious. The college had a huge ground in which the fests and sports activities were conducted. It is almost disappointing to mention that the ground has been expunged this year for a new building, probably concentrated for new IT courses. The wi-fi works okay-ish but we sure do have the facility. The common library is sufficiently large with a vast variety of books related to both, the courses and other genres. There is a separate Law Library which is open for all students but only keeps books related to the mentioned. There is a special room on the ground floor for meditation if any student or teacher wishes to sit in peace during any time of the day. The canteen is capacious, clean and has a good menu.

Placement Experience:

The Placement Cell of the college is very active. Students can avail themselves of the placement opportunities from the fifth semester. I have been selected as a content writer in the fifth semester. I was offered a 4.6 LPA in the esteemed company. More than 40 percent of students end up doing getting jobs. I have decided to earn some experience as a content writer and then apply for the MA journalism program.

Placement Experience:

For the courses like Architecture, Engineering, Law, Mass Communication, many big companies come for placements in Jamia. As my course is a Bachelors's subject under Arts, there aren't many placement opportunities. But I hope to pursue my Master in History after which I would try to get placed.

Placement Experience:

The placements for BA Program in particular are slightly lower as compared to other courses. Most students from the course opt for higher studies but the few who choose to sit for placements find it hard to land a job. Campus placements start in 5th semester and continue for the entire final year. A student is free to sit for as many companies as they like, as long as they meet the eligibility criteria like CGPA, course, etc. Most companies hire a maximum of 4 students owing to the small population of students at St. Stephen's. The highest package in 2021 was 18LPA and the average package is about 6 LPA-8 LPA.

Placement Experience:

Around 70% of the students get good campus placements, especially in the private sector. The average package for the students is 6,000,00 per annum. The highest package offered to the student varies between 25 lakhs to 35 lakhs. My plans are different as I want to pursue my higher education.

Placement Experience:

The placement of the college is good. It has tie ups with reputed news channels. But in our course, the college does not provide internships, students have do it themselves and they have to prepare their own youtube channel for work.

Remarks:

The management is an equally hardworking and efficient team like the faculties. They maintain a good relationship with the students as well as with the teachers and are approachable for both the parties. Their functioning has ensured that the college runs smoothly in terms of presenting itself to others.
