Remarks :

The major factor which led me to choose this college was that it was under the government of Kerala. GECI has extremely proficient faculties. And it has absorbed the mystic beauty of Idukki in all its forms. It is definitely a campus where you can Learn, Live and Explore. The admission was through KEAM exam.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I loved to discover more on the working of smartphone and TVs in depth. That was the reason why I chose the course. Student-Faculty ratio sounds fine and GECI a vibrant and qualified faculty here. The exams are also held on a timely basis and its difficulty level is moderate.

Class Size : 45Course Fees : INR 10000 per year

Placement Experience :

The students are eligible for placements only after 3rd year. More than 20% of the students get placed annually.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fees are decided as per the Government of Kerala norms and cost to study is much low as compared to other colleges.

Campus Life :

GECI's annual tech fest is 'ADVAYA' and arts fest is 'KAVETTAM'. And there are several other annual celebrations too like Thumbappo(Onam celebration). Union Day, College Day, Fresher's Party, Ponpulari, Women's Day, Sports Meet, Football and Badminton Tournaments and a lot more. The technical Cells include IEEE Student Branch, FOSS Cell, Robavation Club, Technoship Cell. The NSS Cell, Querencia(the drawing club), Trexx(the dance club), Pogec (the podcast), Ridhi (the music band) and Obscura(the photography club). The campus is lively all the time and the social life here is high-spirited.

Hostel Facilities :

GECI has two nice and clean Ladies hostels-Nila and Kabani. The meal provided is of good quality and the kitchen is administered by the inmates itself. The Men's Hostel' s infrastructure is not up to the level.

Hostel Fee : INR 24000 per year

NIT Cailcut-The Good,Bad and the Ugly

Placement Experience:

Students can apply for campus placements by the beginning of the 4th year.High paying companies are attracted by the placement cell which offer good packages to the students. The average packages for the circuital branch are pretty high. Each year about 200 companies are invited. The highest package for Electrical and Electronics has gone upto 38LPA with average package of about 14LPA in the graduation year 2024.About 128 students had registered out of which 120 students were placed.The minimum salary offered was 5LPA.

Is engineering here worth it?

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan,infosys,commandtech,bimlabs,gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA
