Good college

College management is good but as it is a government college it lacks a little.

I chose to be a b-tech engineer and our college provides a proper curriculum for b-tech students. It is a little bit away from town which is very good for studying and saves time in many ways. Again it is situated near to many government and private industries which help to get proper practical knowledge.

Though in past a good number of companies has come for campus this year there was very less number of good companies have come for recruitment. Among them, the TATA-BSL is one which hired only 4 students our od 2 branches. Very fewer jobs people have got from our own campus. Yeah for placement the college arranges classes and gives us a little training to face group discussion or how to prepare for the interview.

We celebrate many functions which include both cultural and technical and management level. Among them, Horizon is the best one which includes many events for all the categories. Here students from other colleges can participate. Also, our own students participate. Also, some other branch wise functions take place in the college.

The college has asked is to deposit nearly 35000/year as a course fee. Every branch except computer science and ETC deposit this amount, as these two branches are self financial branches they make more money from students. A very less additional fee is demanded college. Mide if fee collection is online or through bank draft. So there is total transparency in money handling.

Yes, I have applied for the scholarship and have got 10000 per year as a scholarship. I have not applied for any loan but some students have applied and got loan easily from the SBI situated in the college.

A very good campus is there a little bit away from the nearby town Talcher. The atmosphere is less polluted and healthy for living. The number of girls is less and its nearly in the 5:3 ratio. For sports there are grounds but not in good number. Labs are a little less than required and there are fewer instruments also.

A hostel facility is available in IGIT. But due to the rise the number of students for all students there are no hostel facility. Some have to stay in private hostels. Inside the hostel, we have to stay 4 students each in one room up to 3 rd yr and in final yr, there is another hostel which offers single bed rooms. But there is another hostel which is 2 bedrooms and its for 3rd and 4th year students both. The old hostels have a little issue for cleanliness and the new ones maintain proper hygiene.

College seniors are very helpful and they always help us to make decisions and to get good opportunities. Yeah, there is an interactive programme with seniors. We just show a little respect and they treat us as our own little brother or sister.

After jee the main result we filled our choices for the choice filling process. Then there was a temporary allotment list which changed a little bit and a final allotment was declared where I was selected for this college and then admitted to Igit, Sarang in the mechanical engineering branch. I was admitted here in August 2016 through the offline admission process.

A good number of lecturers are there in every branch of our college. Basically, in the mechanical branch, there is the proper number of lecturers of all age groups. The senior ones help with their experience and the new ones are more intelligent. But the senior lecturers lack to make a good student-teacher atmosphere.
