Remarks
I spending my 7 years in this prestigious institution I feel honoured it's good in everything apart from one thing which I as a student would feel that it's bad but now if I see I think it was required. For committees to get permissions for various activity would take around 1 week
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is challenging. It has research in the final year. And now since it's autonomous it has research in final year of graduation also for Arts stream. The course has made me learn alot and which I apply in my day to day life. Since the Indian education system is not upto the mark the college which recently got autonomous' certificate is trying to reduce the gap. The course is helpful for placements. During my undergraduation there were industrial visits organized.
Placement Experience
The campus placement is commendable, the salary offered is really good when compared to industry. For campus placement the Big 4s also come and non Big 4s also visit. Mostly there are 3 rounds, Aptitude test, GD and PI. The institution takes various steps to groom the students and make them ready for the placement. It also offers internships for various fields.
College Events
There are various small and big events taking place throughout the year helping the students in their management skills. I'll name a few. 1) Kshitij: Cultural Event, more than 10,000 participants every year from across the country 2) Joy of Giving: It is a donation drive, when I was heading in the 2nd year, we got the highest number of donors and value also. 3) Mithibai Economic Forum: It is discussion forum and organises conclaves 4) The Economic Transcript: It is an e-magazine with reach over 150 countries with 1600+ subscribers. 5) Mithibai Debate Society: It is a society built to enhance debating culture in the students it is an inter collegiate society. Committees (3-5) are newly formed which means they haven't even completed 5 years.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Our college is government aided so the fees are nominal for basic courses but for other courses the fees are average. Master's fees was 25,000 for 2 years combine. The mode of payment is DD. There are no additional fees/charges to secure admission. The college provides the fee breakdown.
Fees and Financial Aid
No I haven't opted for any scholarship or education loan. One of the reason is that the fees are nominal so there wasn't any need to apply. The whole 3 years graduation costs Rs 12000-13000 for basic courses.
Campus Life
I have been in this college for 7 years as student and now as an alumnus. The campus life is amazing. Each department has their own equipments, labs (if required). The college supports in ever student activity. Peope of all diversity come and study here. There is a cultural committee, debate society, various forums etc.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes the alumni association is really helpful for organizing events as well as in professional life. I've been in touch with various Alumnus and it's really nice experience. We have our alumnus in Bollywood, politics, business, top management of various companies.
Admission
I joined Mithibai college during my junior college i.e. in the year 2012 and till date I'm associated with the college. I did my master's in economics because I really like the subject and since school days I'd interest in it. When I entered in my junior college I didn't want to go because all my friends went to different college but that phase was only for 2 months and after that I wanted to stay in the college. Admission process is simple, the student needs to fill an online form and after the merit list is out needs to submit documents and pay the fees via DD.
Faculty
The faculty is approachable, they support you during your course and even after the course. There are approximately 12-16 lectures/week for masters. For undergraduate 20-22/week. Average age of faculty would be around 35-40. I'm no one to compare their experience as I've just got my degree, the faculty is very knowledgeable. They always try to explain concepts with various new and intersting methods. No, the lecturers didn't have any industrial experience but they always invited people from industry to guide us.
