Course Curriculum Overview :
The course for B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering is very detailed. As it is a 4-year graduation course, our course is divided into 8 semesters, as we follow the semester system. Our program is divided into theory and practical subjects, covering both the logical as well as academic knowledge. As the subject is so vast, it's quite hectic to manage everything.
Placement Experience :
About 40 per cent of the students in our course got placed in well-known companies and organizations. Career Development Cell of IIT, Dharwad helps students get placed by notifying them with all the information. Mahindra, JSW, Bajaj, and Otis worldwide are the top recruiting companies. The top package went up to 30 LPA and the lowest to 4 LPA. Students also got the opportunity to do an internship with many other companies.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fee structure is quite feasible. For my course, total expense is 8.81 Lakh, which is quite reasonable looking at the depth of the subject and the duration of course. There are all kinds of facilities available. Scholarships are accessible to students who are underprivileged.
Campus Life :
Extracurricular activities are made as crucial as academics, for the overall advancement of students. Weekly seminars are being organized to address the issues of society. Several clubs are made from singing, dance, poetry and drama that unites the students of the college. The annual fest is organized which is the most anticipated event of the year.
Alumni/Alumna :
Seniors are very helpful and kind. At first, I was very afraid of the ragging prevalent in engineering colleges, but they turned out to be so sweet and helpful. They made us feel so comfortable in the college, provided us with notes and made us familiar with the events that happen in college.
Admission :
The admission procedure is quite simple. I cleared my JEE MAINS as well as JEE ADVANCED, so getting admission for me was not that hard, but because of limited seats, I was very worried. Only 40 seats are available for each course. But thankfully I got one of the seats.
Faculty :
The teaching is here is extraordinary and it focuses on a healthy relationship between the students and faculty. The staff of our college is highly entitled and have great knowledge of their subjects. Most of our faculty is same as the faculty of IIT, Bombay. They guide us so well and focus on each and every student. We are equipped with smart classrooms, making it easy to gather subject knowledge.
