Sandeep R K's Review On CMR Institute Of Technology - [CMRIT], Bangalore

I joined CMRIT I did not know about this college. I actually had enrolled to another college. But on visit to the other college campus I found it to be very shabby. On the way home I also happened to visit CMRIT and found it in sharp contrast. Although it was also a new college, the campus, the discussions I had with the lecturers and the lineage of the managing trust gave me confidence.

The college adheres to the VTU syllabus for the BE course and hence the curriculum was according to that. I had chosen the Computer Science discipline and we had 8 semesters to complete. The first 3 semesters were common for all branches and the last semester was almost entirely project work.

I had not college internship experience. We did have couple of companies which came in for campus selections but there were not many.Primarily this was due to us being the first batch and the general down turn in IT industry during that period. I have heard some very good reports about companies coming in to our campus now.

We did have quite a few events which were help. We have Techo fest on coding and hacking which was conducted. We also had the Gaming competition held in college driven by AMD.The primary cultural competition which is annual and has participation from various colleges is "Cultura".

Since I have joined as part of the regular scheme, I found the few tructure very reasonable. I remember paying a one time donation of about 10000 during the first semester and regular fees for VTU after that.May not be relevant for today.

I have not applied for any loans nor have I received any scholarship during my stay at the college. Hence I am unable to comment on the same.

The college itself has taken quite a few actions on engaging the alumni and having a good platform to collaborate. Unfortunately I haven't been able to actively participate and utilize this.

We adhered to the VTU semester system. The exams were once a semester with three internal exams in between. The exams were actually quite frequent but the experience in hindsight was quite enjoyable.

Faculty in general was a experienced lot and it being the first batch we had lot of focus from them. The interest they took was commendable.The faculties almost coached us like we were in school and to be honest the environment in the college was not very different from a school. However this was more so because we were the first batch and the entire focus was on us.
