Remarks :
Good remarks: Old college so a very strong alumni network, faculty members are good, sports facilities are good, big stadiums are there with floodlights. Bad remarks: The infrastructure and facilities are extremely poor in our college. We don't have DC++. The hostel accommodations are so poor that students are never provided with single rooms, you will have to share your room with someone always. The bathrooms are dirty and filthy. Sometimes you don't feel like studying in an IIT.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is good and flexible. Not too many subjects in a semester. All students have to do an Engineering drawing course, Mechanical worships. Exams are slightly tough. Our college is research-driven but still, they are not able to do as much research as other iits have done. Placements occur in both core and non-core companies. Many jobs are also provided in the consultancy firms such as L&T.
Placement Experience :
IIT BHU is one of the best colleges in India when it comes to placements. Also in the 2nd and 3rd years, there are many internships provided. But as I am a 1st-year student so as of now I don't hold any internships.
College Events :
The technical fest in our college is called Technex. It has many technical competitions. Many important guests are invited to college. For example this year Sophia - the humanoid robot came to our college. The technical competitions involve hackathons, fluid-related models, robotic arms, RC cars, RC planes, Advanced Drones, etc. There was a musical night on the last day of the fest in which Jubin Nautiyal gave an amazing live performance. Kashiyatra: It is the annual cultural fest of IIT BHU. It has many events such as funny mimics, dancing, singing, musical instruments, EDM nights, Bollywood night. This year in the comedy genre we had Zakir Khan live performance in KY, and on Bollywood night Salim-Suleimann gave a live performance. Many other renowned artists such as Ritviz and The Local Train also came to our college and gave us a thrilling experience.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fee is approximately 1,18,000 per semester (including tuition fee, hostel fee, and all other fees) for general category students whose annual family income is more than 10 lakhs per annum. For annual income less than 1 lakh the total tuition fee i.e 1 lakh is exempted for the semester. I think 1,18,000 is still a costly fee structure considering the fact that IITs are government institutions.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
No, I have not taken any scholarship or bank loan as I didn't felt the need to take a loan. Now as your google form is insisting to complete 100 words in this question too so I have been left with no other option than to write unnecessary stuff.
Campus Life :
The infrastructure of IIT BHU is very poor and it is still working on it. The labs, classrooms, halls are in very poor conditions compared to other engineering colleges. The research labs for ug and pg don't have many equipments. As told earlier the hostel quality is very bad in terms of facility and accommodations so we feel very uncomfortable here that's why studies suffer. The robotics and debates culture is good and is able to cope up with top IITs.
Hostel Facilities :
The institute itself provides hostels for the accommodation of students but the hostels are in very poor conditions. They have adjusted 3 people in a small room which has only 2 cupboards, 2 study tables. That means that it is designed for 2 seater capacity but due to the lack of rooms in the hostel, you will have to adjust and compromise very much to live in IIT BHU hostels.
Alumni/Alumna :
Yes, the alumni network is very helpful, especially during placements. Off placements too they are very helpful as they keep us guidance throughout college life.
Admission :
I appeared in the JEE Main 2020 exam, qualified it the gave the JEE Advanced 2019 examination. After qualifying it I got a rank of 6155 in jee advanced. So I put my choices in Josaa counseling and got a seat in IIT BHU chemical engineering and thus I was able to take admission in IIT BHU.
Faculty :
There are sufficient faculty members in our institute. They are highly qualified, most of them have published their research papers in reputed journals. The professors are not too young and also not too old, they are mid-aged that's why they are very accurate and experienced at the same time.
