Remarks :
Vidya engineering college is one of the best self financing colleges in Thrissur district and in Kerala. As a self financing college it is also a strict college. But the college supports students very well.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is good. All subjects consists of 6 modules. My college comes under Dr.Apj Abdul Kalam technological University. In my opinion the labs are not so tough but easy to understand. The University doesn't give much more importance to lab. But the exam pattern is little vierd.
Placement Experience :
Vidya engineering college is conducting a large variety of placement opportunities of the final year students. Many of the students get placement in companies like TCS, IBS etc. My college is also providing internship of BOSCH and other companies.
College Events :
My college conduts Tech fests, arts day, sports day and so on. Tech fests are the main of this category. Each branch have their own tech fests. It is a 2 day programme.Besides this our college also supports arts sports etc
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Fee structure is different for different branches.Fee is paid annually.one can pay it as fullterm or can pay it in different intervels of academic year.Mechanical and civil have a little high fee structure when compared to other departments.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
College provides scholarship opportunities to students. Students who have high marks in entrance exams and have no back papers will get a full fee weighver scholarship.College also provides loan facility to students
Campus Life :
Talking of extra curricular activities, the best is AIESEC, I've been a part of this for 2 years, also been to Vietnam for 6 weeks through it and it was totally a life changing and evolving experience. For dance enthusiasts we have dance groups DanceDukes and BeatLockers in our college. We also have Drama Society, Debate Society. Apart from there there is some event going throughout the year so it's always good to be part of the organizing committee. Sports facilities are also pretty fine here.
Alumni/Alumna :
No, there's no such active alumni network that we have. Also the seniors that I know are mostly through organizing committees, sports, or AIESEC. They are all friendly and helpful most of the time. Also initially senior junior interaction is strictly prohibited.
Admission :
I got admission through NPAT exams, which is an entrance exam conducted by the the University (NMIMS). Post that there was a merit list and counselling sessions accordingly held in Mumbai. I chose this course as it offers an integrated MBA + BTech degree which is a unique one, also the name of NMIMS matters. I chose Shirpur campus as It offers a campus life on the other part mumbai option does not has a campus.
Faculty :
The facluties are very good and friendly with students. Most of them are highly educated having PHD. Every single teacher will help the student in their projects seminars and other extra curricular activities. They also help us in preparing for tech fests, paper presentations and so on.
