Remarks :
Management can be a bit more prompt and prominent. Rest, all good.
Course Curriculum Overview :
As this is an autonomous college the curriculum is surely made to nourish a student from every aspect but the same also causes a bit of extra burden on the pupil. One foreign language is compulsory in every course of the University. Industry specific knowledge is introduced to the students from 2nd years of their courses. Mock exams are conducted in these years. Industrial visits are surely organised, and also visit to different workshops are frequently arranged.
Placement Experience :
As my course is IT oriented, I was offered a chance for internship exam from companies like, SAP, Tata consultancy services, etc. Placement was and has been provided to very selective academically enhanced pupil.
College Events :
College hosts events on all the above-mentioned areas. We have a Freshers and An annual meet, namely, sangathan every year. The annual fest is one of the biggest and most talked about in the city. Celebs are invited everytime. The Sangathan has inter college events in every field starting from code wars to sports. The Amiphoria, annual fest, has over 150+ in campus events.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
My program fee is around 3.5 lacs. All modes of payment starting from Bank draft, NEFT, UPI TILL Cheques are accepted except cash. No, additional charges or hidden expenses were there. Yes, the college provided fair transparency of the fee structure and as I mentioned above, there where hardly any hidden charges.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Sorry, I can't comment on this as I haven't availed any such facilities as of yet. But I can say that scholarships are available and provided on merit basis.
Campus Life :
Gender ratio should be around 5:3 for boys to girls. Petty parties keep on happening around the campus. If nothing but diversity and tolerance to different race gender and cast is huge and glorious. We have always supported and accepted everyone without any racism. Speaking of gender and sexual orientation, it's pretty diverse. Politics don't step inside our campus irrespective of students' family background, hence, the racism that comes with it too. Economic status of the students is fair, like, upper middle class and high class.
Hostel Facilities :
I haven't opted for college hostel facility but I can surely put on a few correct figures. We have a 21 floor co-ed hostel, girls and boys having different wings. All rooms are sharing of 4 pupils. They're air conditioned. Hostels have a veg meal and egg meal options only, barring any kind of meat. (Hostel fees are exclusive of meal) We have a dedicated canteen for hostel. I stay in paying guest accommodation nearby my college, but it is not linked with college. I pay around 6500 for a single non AC room, which is also exclusive of meal.
Alumni/Alumna :
College seniors of my course are very helpful towards their juniors, thouroughout. I personally wasn't introduced to any alumni until now.
Admission :
I was always attracted towards computers, so after B. Tech, BCA was the subtle most option for me. The prime factor for me was it's location, i.e. Kolkata. Then comes the academics and infrastructure. The place where I heard about this college was from my friend who were already studying over here. The admission process was, Form fill up, basic sorting on 10th 12th percentages, i.e. above 60%, then a basic entrance exam of aptitude, english, and basics of my course, and finally an personal interview.
Faculty :
A five credit course has around 60 to 80 classes, and one credit course has around 12 to 14. Clarification is provided to a satisfactory level, during lectures or after. They surely have certificates but I am unknown if any industrial experience of the facilities in my department. Average age is around 28-40 of the faculties, few of them are doctorates in their fields.
