Remarks :
The environment in college is well suited for people who want to take up jobs in Media Industry. The facilities provided are moderate enough to reach our needs but if more was provided then learning would be fun.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The entire course is well structured and has subjects relating to every field that helps us understand all types of task. This Course just doesn't have theory but also practical classes to get a hand on experience on various skills.
Placement Experience :
Placements are not so good or rather they don't have any, we have to find our own places for internships. The internships are non paid so no stipend is provided for students. The college must look into this matter to help the students.
College Events :
International Days, Public Celebration Days, Religious events, etc are celebrated in the Institution to promote equality. Some of the annual events of the college includes the Annual Gathering called Socials, the Annual Sports, the various events organized by the colleges.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Expensive, the fees of Self Financed Courses are very expensive since they do not get grants from the University. Many people have taken up loans from private banks for their fees. If the University would provide grants for the college then the fees would decrease enormously.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The college doesn't provide any loan facility sadly although they do provide scholarships on various occasions that help students in different ways. The college must look into providing loans for Students especially for Self Financed Courses.
Campus Life :
The College is involved in alot of Social Extracurricular Activities that boast the self confidence of students. Gender Ratios are pretty much fine, people of all genders mix around with each other. There exist no gender bias or gender inequality, everyone stays in peace and promotes equality. Workshops and Student Exchange Programs are held frequently, field trips are too held to promote outbound knowledge.
Hostel Facilities :
I haven't opted for hostel but some of my friends who are foreign students have told me that the college doesn't have a direct hostel rather they recommend students to visit one accomodation facility that is run by the parent organization of the institution. The facilities there are average.
Alumni/Alumna :
The alumni network in St. Xavier's College is strong, frequent meetings are held with Management and College Authorities to help the Institution grow in every way possible. The Senior Students are too very helpful and kind, it's a wonderful environment to study in.
Admission :
An entrance exam is conducted after the results of 12th boards based on which interview is also held. Students are judged on creativity & logically thinking. After this the merit list is put now and normal admission process is followed.
Faculty :
The faculties at St. Xavier's College in the Dept. Of Journalism are really humble, knowledgeable, smart and down to earth, it's just the perfect type of professors that one would long for especially when he/she is understanding.
