Very Good College, Loved Studying here

Remarks :

The college is very good. I loved studying here. Faculties are very helpful and if you want to do your own start-up you can take help from the institute. The one thing I like most is they upgrade their syllabus every year and the support of faculties and college in various competitions and events.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is very good. College keeps on upgrading its curriculum depending on the demand in the market. The curriculum was groomed to provide industry-specific knowledge to the students. The college has also started an initiative of experiential learning. By this initiative we can get to know about what all is going on in the market related to the course which we are studying. The knowledge we get will be helpful in securing an on-campus placement. Institute also organizes industrial visit for the students. Institute also provides inter-institutional courses like learning other foreign languages, economics, entrepreneurship, knowledge on disaster management and other electives based on our interests like Digital Image processing, Robotics, and Automation, IoT and Application, Mechatronics, nanotechnology, CMOS VLSI design, Advanced FPGA design, PCB design, etc.

College Events :

We celebrate Technical and cultural fest every year. Every year we get around 1000s of participation from various colleges from Pune. In the culture we celebrate days like traditional day, corporate day, mix & match day, etc. and then we have various games and competitions. In technical fest, each department has its own theme and based on that we decorate our department and keep various events.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The program fee is stated above. The mode of payment accepted is through DD, NEFT/RTGS. For admission, you have to pay Rs. 1000/1500 as admission form fees. Fees have been a breakdown into semester wise. You have to pay fees every 6-months i.e. every semester. They don't accept yearly fees.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

College offer scholarship opportunities to students. They can avail scholarships like merit scholarship, sports scholarship, NER scholarship, etc. The eligibility criteria for all the scholarships are different. You can check it on the website: www.sitpune.edu.in. You can opt for education loan as well. I have availed educational loans from my bank but the college also provides the name of the bank for an educational loan at the time of admission.

Campus Life :

The gender ratio is almost equal. There are various workshops like Arduino, Electric vehicle, etc. are conducted in our college. There are various clubs like MESA (for mechanical students), CESS (for civil students), Developer Students Clubs (DSC) which is supported by Google Developers, EPIC (Entrepreneurship Promotion and Innovation Cell), Social Awareness Club - Varsity, Robotics Club - ROTONITY. We are having a Sports Competition every year. If you talk about Student Diversity then there are students from various religions and various other countries. Labs are also very nice. In extracurricular activities, we participate in various competitions like Eyantra IITB Robotics Competition, Smart India Hackathon, Robocon, etc.

Hostel Facilities :

There are 3 sharing hostel rooms. The rooms are very good. There is a wifi facility also available in the hostel. Rooms are cleaned daily. There is a laundry facility also available for hostel students. There are 4 hostel blocks for girls and 5 hostel blocks for boys. The food of the mess is also good. If you compare the hostel with PG then I will say the hostel is good, because in a hostel there are guards, wardens for every block. Also, the doctor is available anytime. For food, there is a mess committee that decides the menu of every week and the committee is managed by students itself. So, you can understand how will the menu be and the committee also takes care of the hygiene of the food. So, I will say Hostel is better than PG.

Alumni/Alumna :

Yes, alumni network and senior students are helpful. Our seniors help us whenever we need their help. By interacting with alumni I get to know about various technologies available in today's world and using that I can get to enhance my skills.

Admission :

I opted for E&TC because I am passionate about electronics and I want to make my career in Robotics. I choose this institute because the faculties here are very excellent. Most of the faculties have done a Ph.D. and others are enrolled for Ph.D. Here in the E&TC branch they also give an elective course on Robotics and here there are some faculties who have knowledge in Robotics.

Faculty :

If we have 3 credit courses then 45 lectures and for 4 credit courses, we have 60 lectures. There are 23 professors and average age 35 years and 80% Ph.D. and remaining are pursuing Ph.D. Faculties are having good expertise which helps us in providing clarity about the subjects. We have guest lectures in some subjects, where industry personnel comes for taking lecture. There is a certification course for some subjects which is in collaboration with industry experts.

Placement Experience:

We have wonderful placement opportunists. We had an excellent placement officer for the coordination of placement activities. A lot of companies come and recruit students across all sectors. Pre-placement training is conducted which are helpful. Companies visited-Ace Micromatic, ESDS Software Solution Pvt. Ltd., Epam, ValueLabs, sender, Hexaware Technologies, SABA, Syntel, TCS, Amazon etc. My plans after degree- if I get the good package at the time of placement then I will go with the job. If I don't get a good package then I will do MS outside India.

College management should help students in participating events like BAJA, supra, Firodiya etc more than they do now. Students are interested in things to do but lack of college management interest and support to them. Support students they will bring college further up.
