Remarks :
Positively, i have good remarks about my college as it is good in extra curricular activities like sports, vast infrastructure, healthy faculty members and all. But negatively, the college is bad in academic performance.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Its quiet difficult to go through the curriculum. As there is only six months for completing a semester according to university rules, we will get only two-three months for classes. Between this six months there will be lot of college programmes. Exam structure is also quiet hard. Teachers conduct two internals in two months and one final exam in fourth or fifth month. We are facing difficulty to complete the portions.
Placement Experience :
Yes, since i am studying second year, i dont know about the job oppurtunities provided, but there are placement programmes conducted by many indian and foreign companies in our college. Last year, one of my seniors got placement in Hdfc bank.
College Events :
College union conducts many programmes such as . Arts inagruation . Departmental day . Sports day . College day . Inter departmental games . Onam celebrations . Christmas and new year celebrations etc The experience will differ according to the union members position.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
I am studying a self financing course. So the fees is quiet expensive (9500). In other colleges, they provides government aided courses. It might costs less. If we want a better teaching personnel, we need to opt for self financing courses.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
According to my knowledge, college provides scholarship to aided courses only. The self financing courses doesnt come under the scholarships provided by the college. These scholarships are a helping hand and motivator for the hard working and poor students who pass out from college with good marks, but are poor.
Campus Life :
College has enourmous activities like sports, cultural activities and so on. Our college is famous in basketball in ernakulam district. The college also have other sports activities like cricket, football and hockey where there are lots of students trained under specialised trainers.
Alumni/Alumna :
Yes, good comments on the alumini network and senior students. They are the one who enjoyed their good days of their life in college. They are also an helping hand for college in various events like arts day etc. They will also conduct department -wise programmes once in year.
Admission :
I opted for bcom through the university's application process. Then for the first allotment i got seat for economics in this college. But i opted for bcom in this college itself in second allotment. Finally i got seat for bcom. After that there was an interview with college principal. After the interview, i got seat for bcom in this college.
Faculty :
Its very beautiful. The college is rich in greenary. The college management is very much intrested in the development of the college. There is a new block coming for mcom. There will be lot of oppurtunities for many teachers and students who want to beacome a family member of Union Christian College.
