Keerthana's Review On Manipal College Of Pharmaceutical Sciences - [MCOPS], Manipal

Course Curriculum Overview :

It follows standard curriculum. It follows a yearly system. Three sessional exams are conducted in a year. At the end of the year one final exam or the university exam is conducted. The marks of all four exams are considered in calculating gpa.

Placement Experience :

Manipal college of pharmaceutical sciences has a record of hundred percent placement rate. Also top tier pharmaceutical companies conduct their recruitments here. Also they themselves provide internship opportunities during vacations for a nominal price.

College Events :

Culutral events called sanskriti and utsav happen every year. Additionally academic events pharmaquora is conducted yearly. Sports events like athlos and MCL is also conducted. They have a variety of activities to suit every individuals likes.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fees structure for this course is slightly expensive. Also there are no scholarships available so its little unaffordable. The hostels are pretty expensive here. Overall it's an expensive affair but it's also the top pharmacy college in India.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

None. There are no scholarships available. I suggest they provide few scholarships as the fees is high. I haven't availed any scholarship. I have not much idea about the loan facilities as I haven't availed any of it.

Campus Life :

Labs are well developed. Marena is the sports facility along with few outdoor courts. All of them are very good. However marena membership is paid. Library is one of the best in asia. It is excellent.

Hostel Facilities :

Infrastructure varies from hostel to hostel. Some hostels are very well built and costly too. Normally poor Infrastructure. Hygiene is not so good. And it's too expensive. Other facilities like marena and all are exemplary but yet again, costly.

Alumni/Alumna :

Senior students are very helpful. I do not have much idea about alumni except that some very top celebrities have passed out from manipal university. Other than that I don't have much idea about the alumni network.

Admission :

Students have to appear for an entrance exam following which a merit list is prepared. Then counselling is conducted where seats are allowed based on the merit rank. During counselling, once allotted seat student is expected to submit required documents and pay fees.

Faculty :

overall faculty is good and well experienced. The all have atleast a master's or PhD degree and many years of experience. They are very helpful in case a student wants to pursue ant research and thesis.

After the course, students can be selected for various hospitals and research fields. There is a good scope in pharmacovigilance too. Almost everyone has been working now. They earn a minimum of around 20k per month.

Remarks:

Positive - The institution teaches not only a degree but also makes us well prepared for life in aspects like , manners , behaviour, cooping up with other ethnicities and cultures and along with that provides every requirement for the completeness of our course Negative - Even though the college is one of the best , there are certain negative for every thing , like the infrastructure. There is no canteen or any source of food inside the college which will be helpful for students coming from far And also a leisure room for students in their free time
