Vibin Chakravarthy's Review On Institute Of Hotel Management, Catering And Nutrition - [IHM], Pusa, New Delhi

Remarks :

Hostel rooms found little filthy. But hostel is one of the best part in this college. We have several students from all over the India we can get to know about each one of them and we also get eatables from different regions.

Course Curriculum Overview :

There is total six semesters where we can learn basics to specialisation. We have several practical classes such as kitchen, house keeping, front office, food and beverage service. Also we have different kitchens for different semesters.

Placement Experience :

Yes, we have all placed in different companies. And we have done our six month internship after our second semester. We had good experience during our internship. Working in a star hotels was a new experience for us.

College Events :

There are many events that we celebrate in our college. Like freshers party is our first function and followed by Onam, food festival, tourism day are the various functions we celebrate during our college. Hostel day is one of the memorable party I ever had.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

About fees structure, it quite a reasonable fees though, we have practical classes where we use very high quality products and expensive products but for hostel its too expensive fees I've paid. Because it is not that worth.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

It's a central government college, there are some scholarship accordingly, loan can be offered from other banks that college would do give us the fees structures and Bonafide for applying for loans and we have to apply by our own.

Campus Life :

We do have practical classes such as kitchen, front office, housekeeping, food and beverage service. Also we have sports day, and other food competition festivals in our college. Food festival is one of the best function.

Hostel Facilities :

Yes, I've opted for hostel. It is very grateful that I had stayed with people from different parts of India. It was so fun with all those peoples. But hostel rooms and water are not that good. Because it's a old building.

Alumni/Alumna :

We have a strong alumni association for years. And also we have alumni meet every year which is conducted very grand. In which alumnis from past years all come and have a get together. It was all fun.

Admission :

There is a special class conducted before each and every academic year, called JEE coaching class. We gotta apply online and we can get updates on www.ihmchennai.org. After completing JEE we can get through the college.

Faculty :

Faculty of our college are experienced personnel for their respective departments. There were very helpful and also we have alumnis as faculty. They are very helpful. They guide us in right way. They are best.

Course Curriculum Overview:

If you want to choose a career in teaching so you should come to Delhi University. My course was Bachelor Of Science (Mathematics) Honours in Shivaji College . Because I wanted to pursue Master in Maths further. The quality of maths faculty in my college was good but if you want to pursue the same course, you should to try another college of DU like in North Campus or South Campus like Hindu College, Hansraj College Shri Venkateshwara College etc. Other courses like Bcom. Hons., BA(program) etc Course was good enough in mu College

Placement Experience:

3rd year students are eligible for Placements. But there is rationality in the Placements because the placement cell only focuses on some course that has a background in commerce and economics so the availability of placement opportunities is less for science students. Highest package from our college is 19.5 lacks and the median package is 6.4 lacks in 2020-2021. But if i talk about the electronics degree, there are very less opportunities in that particular field because its a 3 year degree in electronics so you are not either from B.tech or from diploma. It's a new course.

Placement Experience:

There's no placement in the Science field after doing a BSc in any course you need to do a master's to get a job. You can work and do job in the corporate field as a placement cell brings opportunities in fhis area. But if you want to earn direct after graduation goes for professional courses like BTech, MBBS, BDS, BAMS, etc. You can check the college placement cell Instagram page to know about the highest package.

Placement Experience:

There is no placement cell in the college and therefore the students have to find jobs on their own!! This is a drawback but because of the name and fame of the college one doesn't find it much difficult to do so!

Placement Experience:

Campus placements are available for commerce students. Life Sciences does not have any campus placements. Commerce students get good placements from big companies at the very high package. We have a separate Placement Cell for this and also a Placement fair is held every year in which every student can take part. Life Sciences students prefer going for masters or for any government job after their graduation. Also, there are many jobs available for life science students in the private sector. We have jobs in chemical industries, medicinal fields, and research jobs. Life Science students always get an opportunity in science-related jobs. Most of my seniors went for them post-graduation. I am also planning for a government job after my graduation. Life Science students are also very active in internships.

The societies that you join becomes a family for you and you think as you are not at all far from your family . The college also has good sports facility which is an added advantage. The best part of Stephens is academics that is famous already .
