Remarks :
One of the best engineering college in the country, and definitely on the rise.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Mathematics and computing is probably the most in demand branch right across all IIT, it combines the best elements of CS, pure mathematics, finance and statistics.
Placement Experience :
It's great for maths and computing/CS for sure, plenty of opportunities and it's always on the rise. With a decent preparation bagging a top placement is really easy.
College Events :
There are cultural and tech fests, not that great but you can make it worthwhile. Location may be a big reason for that.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Back in 2013 it was really affordable, but the recent hike changes the narrative dramatically. Worth it in my opinion, even if you have to take out a loan.
Campus Life :
football/athletics coaches are shit, both as a coach and as a human being. But facilities are pretty decent.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostels are decent mostly, except the overcrowded first year prisons.
Alumni/Alumna :
seniors are really helpful, if not as a guide then as a competitor. Try to maximize interactions with seniors/alumni/faculty.
Admission :
Standard procedure for all IIT's. ISM was converted into an IIT in 2015 but it has been followed the same method as IIT for admissions.
Faculty :
Faculty isn't that great across the board but of course if you are willing to work, IIT's are the most helpful. Classes are mundane and boring in nearly every engineering college except for some exceptional professors, and ISM does have some quality faculty.
