Remarks :
One of the negative remarks In my opinion is,how far it is from the city,and the lack of transportation to reach the college. Its 22 km away from the city and there are very limited buses that stop right in front of the college.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The Curriculum up until the 4th year felt outdated,we had certain outdated courses like Computer Graphics,which isn't used anywhere nowadays. Exam structure goes something like this,20 marks are Internals which is again divided into 10 marks for the test ,5 for the quiz and 5 for assignment and 80 marks is externals,where 16 marks is allocated for 5 modules.
Placement Experience :
The placements have been very good. The placement department has provided us with whatsoever we require to acquire a job.Our Day One company is Infosys,where most of the students gets placed. Then we have placements season going all the way up until the 8th Sem.We didn't have any internship provided from the college side as such.
College Events :
Our college celebrates:Ayudha Pooja,Onam, Independence Day Etc. But the most important event happens in the month of Jan-Feb,called Aakrithi,the intercollege fest. It's usually a 3 day fest,where the first day is formal function and the next two days,we have dj night and informal functions.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fee structure is quite feasible for Students coming through their sister institutions or through CET. Other management students have to pay alot more to enter the field of their choice. Almost 20-30k more than the CET student.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Certain external sources provide the scholarships from what i can recollect. And the college gives full support ,puts up notices and sends circulars to classes to notify the students to avail such scholarship based on their backgrounds.
Campus Life :
We in CSE have a association called SPECS, wherein we organize the important events of the department and also go for school visits giving kids the basic knowledge of our field. The labs in our department are quite well maintained and the sporting events going on, help the students physically as well.
Alumni/Alumna :
My Seniors have always been helpful,the hierarchy in the department is pretty good,no ragging as such happening in the college,all of them just being friendly to each other,enjoying the time they have together.
Admission :
I got admission in college through management quota. As soon as my CET results were announced I went to their office near my school,told them about my scenario, they were suggesting to take up IS instead of CS, but i wanted CS and due to my mother's powers of convincing,I got enrolled into CS&E.
Faculty :
As I am part of CSE,I can only speak for my lecturers; Whichever lecturer I have got till date,has always prepared well before coming to class,there have been people who are too backward and behave like they are handling school kids,but I guess u can't blame them.
