Remarks :
Overall my experience with life at IIT(BHU) has been very positive. I'm very happy that I chose this college to shape my future. Still I have lots to do. This one of the best colleges in my experience. I would definitely recommend it to someone.
Course Curriculum Overview :
This is a four year course which is equally divided into eight semesters. For a student to graduate, they need to pass all the eight semesters. Their is also a chance of discipline change (branch change) given to first yearites. The overall course for a given branch is fixed with some elective courses to choose from.
Placement Experience :
The placements in the college are excellent. With over 80 percent student placed this year, IIT BHU has one of the best placement track records. Right from the first year, students are free to do any internship they prefer. Their are many MnCs who visit the college regularly for internships and placements.
College Events :
The college has a rich club culture. There are a total of 18 clubs in IIT BHU under various councils. Each councils holds their annual fest like the Science and Technology Council holds Technex, one of India's oldest Science Fest.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fee structure is a bit expensive compared to other government colleges. However there are concessions for different classes. The General and OBC students pay about ?106,000 each semester. The SC/ST students pay around ?6,000 each semester. There is also a fee waiver based on the family income of the students.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
There are no acholarship/loan facilities provided by the college. However most banks offer a student loan to students of IIT(BHU) with a lowered interest. There are also some scholarship schemes by the state government and the central government.
Campus Life :
Their are various labs in the institute for everyone. One is free to conduct research under supervision. The sports facilities are also great. The college has special grounds for football, cricket, basketball, volleyball, lawn tennis and more
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel infrastructure is pretty mediocre compared to other colleges. The atmosphere is great and the overall food quality is fine. There are different hostels which can accommodate around 8000 students.
Alumni/Alumna :
The senior students are very friendly and are ready to help you at any time. Right from the first year they guide you about the various aspects of college life. The student-alumni interaction is also very positive as there is a dedicated club for this purpose.
Admission :
Passed JEE ( Main)-2018 held on 8 April 2018 by scoring 186 out of 360 marks. Got an All India Rank of 3500. I qualified for JEE Advanced 2018 which was held on 21 May 2018. I scored 152 marks out of 372 and an AIR of 5568. Later got a B.Tech course of Chemical Engineering and Technology at IIT(BHU) through JoSAA ( Joint Seat Allocation Authority).
Faculty :
The faculty is highly trained and one of the best in the country. All the professors and assistant professors have graduated from esteemed universities with majority of them having a major. Their are very few job vacancies in the college.
