Remarks :
The timings and attendance issues need to resolved. Long hours of college and school like atmosphere. There is not enough appreciation for extra curricular activities besides during one month of the fest.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The current course taught to us is very outdated and there is very little practical knowledge about the current industry scenario. The equipment’s and methods taught to us in the lab or theory are totally outdated and not in use. The exams mostly theory based and more towards the mugging up pattern rather than understanding.
Placement Experience :
The placements after graduation are not really good and not well paid. We have to do a compulsory internship after the third year which is not provided by the college, we have to find it on our own.The internships have no stipends.
College Events :
Rx fest- organised by IPA (Indian pharmaceutical association) which conducts all kinds of sports, cultural and intellectual events between all the Pharmacy colleges. Annual Day- celebrated within the college where various performances are organised and rankers are felicitated.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
It is feasible for a middle class family. The college does not provide any accommodation facility therefore for the students coming from outside it becomes a little expensive to opt for private hostels or pgs which cost a lot.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Scholarships are provided only to economically backward students and Gujarati minority students. The scholarships can be availed by students fitting in the criterion by verification of valid documents.
Campus Life :
Sports Cultural and Labs are conducted in the college. There are various committees which are responsible for carrying out all the tasks. Like social work, cultural, editorial, sports etc. All the activities are performed professionally.
Alumni/Alumna :
The alumni network is not that good enough. Only some of the students who have good contacts with their seniors are in contact with the alumni. The college does not organise any meetings with the alumni or talks.
Admission :
I gave the Common Entrance Test (CET) Maharashtra and secured 124 marks. I applied to colleges all over Mumbai where Bhanuben Nanavati College of Pharmacy was my second choice. I was selected through the CAP round merit list in the third round.
Faculty :
The faculty is pretty good. All the teachers a well qualified and are great at their work. They try their best to not only teach us what is in the book but also what is important to survive in the field.
