Remarks
The infrastructure is great, facilities are awesome. Opportunities are great. College also has an incubation center for startups. The travelling is not so convenient but well connected. Overall a decent college with no so high cut off criteria.
Course Curriculum Overview
The exam structure and curriculum has changed now since I graduated. The college has now become autonomous and have different course and exam structure. I am still closely associated with my college for my startup, hence I can comment that the new syllabus is highly aligned with modern industry requirements.
Placement Experience
The average placement is about 3lpa. Mass hiring is done by Infosys and Accenture, sometimes capgemini. The college has tied up with many companies and sends its students for internships. Most of the internships are unpaid.
College Events
Zephyr is the technical fest. Students from all the colleges are allowed in the fest to compete in the events. It is a 3 day event usually during October. Sojourn is the cultural fest. Outside students are not allowed. Inertia is the sports fest.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee is about 1.26 lakh per year. According to engineering colleges, I would say it is feasible. Also, the fee is usually regulated by government authorities, hence majority of the colleges have the same fee structure.
Fees and Financial Aid
Tution fee waiver is one option, called TFWS. You can apply for EBC scholarship through which you get 50% fee off. Or you can even apply for Tata trust scholarships. College supports economically challenged students to its maximum capacity.
Campus Life
The labs are super awesome, mostly with advance hardware configurations. There was a ground adjoining the college but is now not connected directly to the college, still you can go there to play. There are multipurpose halls and seminar halls in the college. Also a huge auditorium which is recently renewated.
Hostel Facilities
No, I didn't take the hostel, but as per my friends from the hostel say, the facility was quite decent enough. The hostel was 15 minutes walk from the college. Cost is about 30k per year and you are allowed to stay 10 months out of 12.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network is next to non existence. Literally no one is connected and you can find no support from seniors even if you do find them. College should definitely work on this end. BITS is famous for its strong alumni network, and I think TCET should also create such a network.
Admission
Gave IIT Jee exam, whose scores combined with the HSC scores were used to generate the merit list. I applied for offline admission process and got admitted in the first round. Initially, IT branch was alloted to me, but later on request they changed it to computer branch.
Faculty
I would say moderate. There are some very good faculties, but as other colleges, many are hopeless. You better be ready to learn majority subjects on your own. You can approach for doubts, but I won't recommend.
