Remarks :

Almost everything is good here, except the connectivity with metro cities. IIT kgp has maximum number of deoartments, and such inter disciplinary environment helps us to explore the opportunities available in other fields or domains.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Course curriculam is designed by IIT itself as per the norms of BCI. Special focus on Intellectual Property - Patents, Copyright, Trade Marks, GI, Semiconductor layout protection, industrial Designs, etc. Here we are exposed to legal protection of technology, as well as we study legal subjects like Civil procedure code, Criminal law, Constitutional law, Law of Torts, etc.

Placement Experience :

Placement is offered by the college and internal placement team. Companies like Siemens, Bosch, TVS and tier-1 law firms take students from the school. Internships are offered by companies and law firms through College placement department. I had five internships in IP domain, where i was exposed to procedures for protection of technical inventions.

College Events :

IIT Kharagpur hosts a list of events : SPRING FEST - cultural fest KSHITIJ - Techno Management fest NATIONAL STUDENT'S SPACE CHALLENGE NATIONAL MOOT COURT COMPETITION GREAT STEP- Mining fest and many more.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Fee structure is ?50 K per semester for IP law course. Fee structure is different for different programs. Fee is not expensive in respect to the facilities provided by the college, like central library, Technology Gymkhana, etc.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

National and international scholarships are offered by college time to time and students are informed through notice boards and ERP email notifications. College has collaboration with national/international universities and industries for scholarships.

Campus Life :

Extracurricular facilities are excellent. Every tyoe of sport facility is available including- tennis court, basketball court, badminton, swimming pool, cricket and football stadium, athletic stadium, etc. All extracurricular activities are governed by Technology Students Gymkhana. Labs are integrated with respective department buildings.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel is compulsory for students. Facilities provided by the hostel management are good. Every basic facility is being provided like - accommodation, food, washing facility, hostel library, music room, entertainment room, sports arena, etc.

External Expense : Rs.7000 - Rs.10000

Alumni/Alumna :

IIT kharagpur is the first IIT in India. Alumni network is very strong and an annual Alumni fest is organised by the college to invite alumni. Our alumni is present everywhere. One if the notabke alumnus is Mr. Sundar pichai , CEO of Google.

Admission :

Entrance exam including questions from Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Biology, Apptitute & Reasoning, English and legal aptitude with general science. A degree in engineering is required to pursue thus course. Most of the students are having Computer Science/ Electronics & Communication engineering degrees.

Faculty :

College have top notch faculties with diverse background, ranging from law to technology. My department has faculties from law, science , management and engineering domain. Their way of teching is different.

"An insiders guide to my college chronicles"

Course Curriculum Overview:

Interesting cases abd case analysis done in our course and the subjects have facinated me to choose this course. Though in law what we learn in hardly utilised in the real world as it's a totally different approach but we have been given proper guidance and examples on how and where should a particular act or law is applied. Some subjects could be altered or the order of subjects could be changed for us to grasp easily. The timings of exams are quite feasible but the schedules should be given much beforehand.

Life at Brainware University campus

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements from last semester. Until now I haven't been made any offer, because I'm only in second semester. Highest package for 2021 was ?8 LPA, average - ?18000 P/M. Above 95% students have been placed as per their official data. I haven't thought about it yet. Whether I opt for corporate job, or practice, will depend upon the circumstances.

1.After 3rd -4th semester students are eligible for campus placements. 2. Companies like wipro,tata, Amazon, Infosys, byjous, and many more. Total 500+ recruiters are there. 3. Highest package offer was 36 lpa and highest package that locked was 24 lpa 4. 97% students get placed here in any course. 5. I am going to do litigation as well as LLM.
