My brother too was confused last year regarding Design at IIT Guwahati. Eventually, he decided to go for it. Later, he shared a few highlights of the program that might help you decide

  • The program is not all about creativity, unlike the general assumption, although may need average-level creativity.
  • The coursework is demanding and analytical. You need to focus well on your assignments to score well
  • You require genuine passion and a desire to improve things around you in order to pursue this field genuinely.
  • It’s easy to secure good internships and placements as job opportunities are plentiful. My brother was able to get an internship in the 3rd despite having no lucrative CV with projects.
  • The workload is considerably light and you can focus on other things like preparing for MBA or Civil Services, etc

However, to become successful in this field, the primary requirement is your genuine commitment, passion, and tremendous hard work.
