How are the placements in IIT Palakkad?

Despite being a new IIT, IIT Palakkad has great placements for the CSE branch. This year too the branch recorded 100% placements. However the same cannot be said for other branches, especially EE, ME, and Civil. EE is a circuit branch and thus its placement statistics are really poor. IIT Palakkad placement 2023 is still going on and the placement percentage has reached 90.28% as of now. 130 out of 144 students have been placed.

IIT Palakkad's highest package of INR 46.16 LPA was received by the CSE branch and the Mechanical Engineering branch. The average package stood at INR 13.93 LPA and the median package at INR 11.50 LPA.

IIT Palakkad is from the new league of IITs. It has collaboration with Auckland University for the semester abroad programme and has tie-up with UST Global for providing students with the opportunity to learn cutting-edge technology in the R & D sector.

Placement Overview

The IT sector made most recruitments with 44%, followed by Core Engineering and Banking and Finance with 21% and 18% respectively.
10 PPOs were received by students with highest stipend of 25,000
Many companies like Arista Networks, Maybank, TCS, TRAI, L&T, HSBC, Fincure, iManage,BOSCH, Visteon participated in the recruitment drive
In 2019, 62 companies took part in the recruitment process. The companies belonged to different sectors like government, consulting, services, research and development etc.
64 offers were made to students. The average salary offered was around 7 LPA.

Placement Statistics

The highest salary packages are offered to students of the CS branch followed by chemical and mechanical engineering.
The highest salary package offered was 16 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 6 LPA.
90% students were placed from CSE, while the average placement rate was between 60-85% for the other branches

This is a new college and the first batch graduated just last year, hence placements and facilities will increase with time. The choice of college depends on every individual’s discretion, resources and vision.
