According to the reviews I read online, Fergusson College is considered a better college than Symbiosis College due to various reasons. The reasons why it is preferred by students are: -

• It is located in a very prime location in the heart of the city and near to the market.
• Near to Fergusson hills which provides a scenic beauty to the already beautiful campus.
• Fergusson College has been an epitome for rich heritage, culture of excellence.
• It has great buildings such as the main building N.M Wadia Amphitheater and also the Bai Jerbai Wadia Library
• It has separate buildings for the Science and Arts department which are well equipped with latest tech and gadgets.
• They have a variety of academic courses to offer.
• International links and good hostel facilities are also offered.

It comes under the top 10 colleges in terms of academic achievement. It has been delivering excellent academics and placement stats for over 125 years and has become an institution where excellence has never been compromised. The institute has been graded as ‘A’ by NAAC and has certified courses both from NAAC and AICTE.

In my opinion, Symbiosis is better. As a lot of my friends studied at Symbiosis, I might be able to provide you with some information about the college.

• The course material is extensive and the staff is quite friendly. On the other hand, Fergusson is just mismanaged. 
• The course material at Symbiosis is such that it also covers small parts of the Master’s course material. 
• The faculty encourages you to refer to study materials outside of the course outline which is very healthy. 
• Also, the Honours programs have a good reputation and the symbiosis brand itself is well-recognized. 
• They will add value to your resume and also build a good foundation if you wish to do a Master’s Degree.

As Symbiosis is a private institute, the fees will considerably be higher than Fergusson. But it is good to invest in a college which will give you a proper and industry-oriented education. So Symbiosis won't be a bad choice.

Bachelor in Commerce is a three-year full time undergraduate course.The course prepares students to sustain as a corporate employee or an entrepreneur. They become flexible and gain knowledge to survive in a changing corporate environment. They learn how to focus and understand the business world.

NM College prepares students to imbibe knowledge and skills in their chosen fields. It is known to be a CA factory. The college is strict about their attendance. This sometimes becomes a problem for students who are working or doing internships along with their B.Com.

The course in Symbiosis aims to create an unusual program that has the potential to gain knowledge from theories and achieve practical skills, enhancing the student’s mind. It creates an intellectually stimulating environment for students. It does not have a strict rule about attendance which enables students to pursue jobs or internships while studying.

Both colleges are equally good, there might be some differences in fees or faculty, batch size, etc. otherwise academically it is more or less the same. If the candidate is willing to be a part of Finance and Consultation, he or she should go for NM College.
