Questions Asked On NSUT, New Delhi

Will I be able to change my branch in DTU/NSIT after the 1st year? If yes, then what is the criteria to change the branch after 1 year?

NSIT Branch change Rules

Branch change in NSIT happens after 1st semester. NSUT has unique criteria regarding branch change. If there are vacant seats in the branch of your higher preference(as filled during the choice-filling procedure of JAC Delhi) and your JEE rank is better than other students who applied for branch change, then your branch changed automatically after the first semester. However, if you have filled out the branch freezing form at the time of admission or students who got admission during the spot round cannot change their branch.

DTU branch change

DTU has no branch change policy. In rare cases, if someone from a higher cutoff branch withdraws his admission after the spot round then the seat is filled by those who opted for that branch and not froze their current branch. The chances are almost low though.

Which one is better, NIT or NSIT?

Both NITs and NSUT have their own plus and minus points. Let us look at a few plus points of NSUT Delhi-

  1. Placements - It has better placements than all the NITs, DTU, and even a few IITs.
  2. Location - It has a locational advantage as it is in Delhi. Also, it is located near the metro station, so you can travel across Delhi quite easily.
  3. Campus - The campus is good. The academic, administrative, and other departments are located near each other. There is a large playground, sports facilities, and a running track. Parts of the campus are covered in a lush green forest.
  4. Faculty - The faculty consists of two kinds of teachers. First are those who teach really well, are regular, and give good assignments and valuable learnings. They are supportive and encourage the students to indulge in project work.

The second category consists of those who are there just for the sake of it.

But even NITs have a similar situation in this regard.

In terms of project opportunities, lab facilities, technical fests, and technical societies, the NITs are a better choice.

Depending on your priorities, you can choose between the two. NSUT Delhi is a great choice if you wish to study over there.

Which one should I prefer: Ambedkar Institute of Advanced Communication Technologies and Research at Delhi for ECE or Bharathi Vidyapeeth’s College of Engineering at Delhi for ECE?

If you are looking for a college to pursue your higher education, there are a few factors that you should consider before making a decision. One of the most important factors is the type of institute you want to attend, whether it is a government or a private institute. You should consider attending Ambedkar Institute of Advanced Communication Technologies and Research at Delhi for ECE as it may have a significant difference in fees compared to Bharathi Vidyapeeth’s College of Engineering at Delhi for ECE.

Private institutes like BVP and others may have strict rules for attendance, which can limit the time you have for building your skills and resume. Both AIACTR and BVP may have similar placement opportunities, so focus on other factors when making a decision. Travel distance to the college is another important factor to consider, as it can become a major factor once you start attending college. You need to balance your time between college studies, personal hobbies, and extra skills for your resume, so it's important to have a manageable travel distance to college.

NSUT Delhi is a premier engineering college now known as NSUT located in the capital city of India. Here are a few pros and cons that might give you a brief idea about the institute

Pros:

  1. The attendance policies aren't very rigid and professors are least bothered about students attending the classes.
  2. The academic workload is quite light and one can score well in exams by just studying one or two weeks before the exams.
  3. You will be exposed to a smart peer group and learn a lot from them.
  4. NSUT Delhi offers excellent placement and internship opportunities. This year the median package was recorded at INR 16 LPA. Top recruiters included Microsoft, Amazon, Texas Instrument, Google, Qualcomm, Cisco, Hero Moto Corp, etc
  5. The college gives enough importance to extracurriculars and many student-run societies promote them.

Cons:

  1. NSUT infrastructure is in a poor state although gradual changes are being made to improve the infrastructure and other facilities.
  2. The classes are boring and monotonous so the students are left with no choice but to self-study.

The pros overshadow the cons so NSUT Delhi is a decent choice.

Which is better for CS, AIACTR, MAIT, or MSIT?

SG

A few of my friends graduated from AIACTR, MAIT, and MSIT. Here are some facts about these colleges, which might help you make a proper choice.

AIACTR –

  • Being a government college AIACTR lags in placements because fewer efforts are made by the Training and Placement Officer.
  • After a semester, you will also realize that the results of internals and practicals sent by the faculty of AIACTR are fewer marks as compared to MAIT and MSIT.

MAIT and MSIT –

  • While coming to a comparison between MAIT and MSIT there are a lot of factors like distance from your home and others.
  • In MAIT, there are no attendance issues while at MSIT the attendance issues are a little strict. You have to maintain at least 60% attendance at MSIT.
  • Academic wise MSIT is far ahead of MAIT.
  • MSIT has a better placement record with an average salary of around INR 13 LPA while at MAIT it is INR 7 LPA.
Categories AIACTR MAIT MSIT
Course Fee 38,000 (1st year) 5.73 lakh 4.69 lakh
Highest CTC 15 LPA 23 LPA 21 LPA
Average CTC 8 LPA 12 LPA 10 LPA
Recruiting Companies TCS, Havells, Wipro, Infosys, etc. Accenture, HP, TCS, HCL, etc. Bosch, Crisil, IBM, ITC, etc.

MSIT is a good option if the infrastructure and strict attendance are not your major concern. If so you can easily opt for MSIT over the other two. However, make the wise decision considering other factors too.
