Dharmsinh Desai University, Nadiad is ranked 193rd among all colleges in India by the NIRF ’20.

Dharmsinh Desai University offers 34 courses across 5 streams and has more than 4300 seats. There are more than 230 faculty members and the university offers both online and offline modes of education.

Admission:

• For admission in BTech courses, candidates must qualify their 12th examination with 50% aggregate and sit for the GUJCET and JEE Main examinations.

• For MTech courses, candidates must appear for GATE and GUJCET.

• Candidates must qualify for the CMAT exam for getting a seat in their MBA program.

• The total tuition fee for BTech, MTech, and MBA is 6.8 lakhs, 2.8 lakhs, and 3.04 lakhs, respectively.

Infrastructure and facilities:

The university checks out all the basic facilities that are needed by students.

• The library is regularly updated with the newest edition of books, magazines, journals, and online resources.

Students don’t have to worry about good campus life, as the college tends to almost all requirements. Overall, Dharmsinh Desai University is a safe and good college to take admission in.

Dharmsinh Desai University [DDU], located in Nadiad, is one of Gujarat's most prosperous universities. Nirma University is UGC recognized and is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. The university is also a member of the Indian Universities Association (AIU) and the Commonwealth Universities Association. Nirma University and DDIT University were ranked 131st and 193rd respectively by NIRF 2020 in Engineering.

Admission:

• Admission to B.Tech programs is through scores obtained in JEE mains or GUJCET and ACPC, Gujrat. While for B. Arch programs, students will have to sit for the NATA entrance test.

• Admission to M.tech programs is through the GATE score while that of M. Pharm is done through scores obtained in the GPAT entrance test.

• For MBA programs, students are selected based on their CAT score followed by a personal interview.

• Admission to Dental programs at DDIT University is based on scores obtained in the NEET entrance test.

Facilities:

• NIRMA University library has over 55,000 books, 4409 bound volumes, 243 current journals, magazine and newspaper subscriptions, 2020 standards, and 700 ASCE, IEEE / IET, ACM, etc. e-journals.

• The DDIT University Library is completely computerized and uses SOUL Library Automation Tools (Tools for University Libraries).

Alumni:

• Notable alumni of NIRMA University include Vijay Kothari- Research Scientist in the area of plant antimicrobials. Other notable alumni of the institute include Fenil Shah who is an Indian Chess Player and holds the Fide Title of International Master.

• Notable alumni of DDIT University are Axar Patel- Indian Cricketer. Other notable alumni include Vijay Patel who is an Indian Lawyer and member of parliament.

Placement:

Cognizant, iFlex, Syntel, Cypress Semiconductor, Juniper, ARM, Deutsche Bank, etc. are the major recruiters at Nirma University. The major recruiters at DDIT University are Amazon, TCS, Apollo, TCS, Kotak, Morris Garages, Wipro, etc.

Both the Universities are top-notch with high placement drive and recruitment. However, it is recommended that students go with their choice of interest.

After doing some research online about these colleges, I found out that mostly students prefer DDU. It would be better in all the ways from campus to placements.

• The campus of DDU is very good. The infrastructure is well developed.
• All the required facilities are provided and they are fully functional.
• The labs are well maintained.
• The teaching faculty is very good and much better than LD and MSU.
• The academic curriculum at DDU is better than LD and MSU.
• Companies such as Infosys, GSFC, Reliance, Wipro visit for hiring.

You may also want to know that why they do not prefer LD:

• It is a Government institute and it comes under Gujarat Technological University. The exams are conducted at odd timings.
• The schedule is not followed well and vacations are not given at the proper time.
• The students do not get time to learn anything or do internships.
• The labs are poorly maintained and not functional.
• The teaching faculties are not good and supportive. Students have to do self study.
• The only advantage of studying at LD is that it gets a good number of companies as it comes under GTU. Companies such as TCS, Accenture, Cybage, Persistence, HSBC, elite core, Wipro, matrix visits for hiring.

The students passing out from DDU have more skills and knowledge compared to other students. So, overall, DDU would be a better option.

I have a few friends from DDU and according to them, the placement opportunities offered at DDU for the Computer Engineering department are quite good. You will have lots of job opportunities. You just need to be sure about what you want because CE is a wide domain. Companies recruit for different profiles. like Java developer, PHP developer, .NET developer, etc.

According to the placement highlights of this year, for CE the placement average was 100%. The highest CTC offered was more than 30 lakhs and the average CTC offered was nearly 6 lakhs. Some of the major recruiters that visited the placement drive were Infosys, Accenture, TCS, Amazon, etc. 

Are you confused about the branch of choice or college? If you want to choose the better institute then you should choose DDU. It is a lot better institute than CSPIT. 

If you are confused about choosing the branch, then I can say that the syllabus for IT at DDU is better than CSE at CSPIT. Also, DDU has a branch change scheme. If you have a decent CGPA, you can change your branch after the completion of your first year. So, you can switch to CE. 

My sister studied computer engineering at DDU. Based on her experience I will recommend you to join DDU. Here are the reasons why you should choose DDU. 

• DDU CSE department is way older than PDPU. As a department, it has more experience. It has also improved a lot over the years. 
• The faculty members are well-educated and highly experienced.
• The laboratories are well-facilitated.
• From 4th sam, you will have to do projects. That way you will get to learn about real-life projects.
• The placement record for DDU is also quite good. The placement average is around 95%. 

So, overall DDU Computer Science will be a great option. 

I have a few friends from BVM and DDU and based on the reviews that I got from them, I will suggest you choose the former. BVM is better for Electrical, Electronics, Civil, Computer, IT branches. Here are some of the reasons why you should choose BVM.

• It has the best laboratory in Gujrat for Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering.
• The faculty base for the institute is great. 
• BVM is an autonomous college and they conduct their own examination. Which is better than the bulky syllabus of GTU.
• The alumni association for BVM is quite good. They help students to conduct festivals such as UDDAN. UDDAN is one of the best festivals in Gujarat. 
• The sports facilities offered at BVM are also better.
• There are many well-known alumni of BVM. A.M. Naik is one of them. He is the CEO of L&T. 
• BVM also offers good placement opportunities. In the recent placement drive, the average CTC offered was 4-5 LPA. The highest CTC offered was 12 LPA. 

Overall, compared to DDU, BVM is definitely a better option.
