Which is better, Galgotia College or ABES Engineering College

DK
Divya Khosla Posted On : May 11th, 2021
Studied at ABES Engineering College, Ghaziabad

Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology is obviously better than ABES Engineering College. It should not be confused with the Galgotias University as it is different from this college.

Galgotias College edges past ABES Engineering College in almost every aspect; quality of infrastructure, teaching methodology and faculty, and most importantly placements.

  • Looking at the placement record for 2019-20, Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology had the highest CTC and average CTC of INR 11,18,669 per annum and INR 3,86,000 per annum respectively
  • ABES Engineering College had the highest CTC of INR 10 LPA.
  • They both are close in case of the locality as well; ABES Engineering College is in Ghaziabad while Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology is in Greater Noida.
  • Both have equally competent faculty, placements, and facilities

So, as we can see there is not much of a difference, in reality, to sway in favor of one over the other. Any college you choose will be equally good for you. More important is your performance in the college to land a top job otherwise no college can give you anything readymade.

I could have got Ajay Kumar Garg (CS) but I chose ABES Engineering College (CS). Did I make the right choice?

SS
Shruti Sen Posted On : May 11th, 2021
B.Tech Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Communications Engineering, ABES Engineering College

Both the colleges are similar to each other in many ways and are located in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. They are affiliated with the same university, Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU).

For the year 2018-19, there was a total of 847 job offers made to B.Tech students of Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College. ABES Engineering College had a total of 233 students in the CS department participating in the placement process with 209 getting placed receiving a total of 305 job offers with INR 10 LPA as the highest salary for the current year.

Apart from these, there are some really good things to look forward to on the campus –

  • Personality and skill development – It has a Student Employability Enhancement Program (SEEP) running to help you improve your soft skills and overall personality to make you ready for corporate life. If you want to improve your core coding skill, it has 2 specialized coding clubs to do that.
  • General life – They organize the techno-cultural fest GENERO every year. They also recently organized their first TEDx event, TEDxABESCE. The students of the college have also formed an NGO Help Us to Help the Child (HUHC) with more than 180 volunteers.
  • College Amenities and support – The infrastructure is really very good, especially the library. The college gives freedom to its students to attend programs run by other departments as well which helps you to become multi-talented. Even though many students outside of the college think that the extra rules imposed on the students make them feel like school students, but in reality that is part of the student development.

Do not doubt about your choice you have already made. There is no point in that. In contrast, try to make use of all the facilities being given to you and you would never regret your choice.

Which is better, AKG, ABES or IMS Ghaziabad?

AJ
Aakash Jain Posted On : February 13th, 2023
BBA from Institute of Technology and Science, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad (Graduated 2020)

I think it’s high time people stop comparing colleges and start working on themselves because the actual worth of a college is defined by your own willingness to make the best out of your situation. What actually matters is

  • Your relationship with the faculties
  • Your initiatives towards the various events and programs held in college
  • How well you coordinate and organize the programs
  • Being a part of a good committee in the college
  • To grab the best opportunities offered by your college and excel in it

So what I mean is don’t it all depends on how well you cope up and strive in any given college or situation. It depends more on you than the college you are associated with. In Fact, any other college will also offer you the same opportunities provided you are ready to make the best out of them.

What are some things that an ABES engineering college freshman should know?

RS
Rekha Solanki Posted On : November 11th, 2020
B.Tech (CSE) from ABES Engineering College, Ghaziabad (2017)

ABES Engineering College is considered to be the best and has also been ranked number one under all the colleges AKTU, Lucknow. The institute has been consistently ranked number one for the past 4 years.

Here are a few of the facts you should know as a freshman in college.

  • The college has strict rules and regulations and you need to follow them accordingly especially in the first year.

  • Minimum 75% attendance is mandatory for a student to sit in exams so think before taking a leave.

  • Many extra classes are taken for the students with an unsatisfactory score in the scope of improvement.

  • The first day (induction) will impart you with tons of memories and a neat exposure to a new world.

  • Dress your best as the first impression lasts, and of course, you will be meeting a lot of new people who only have a few points to judge you.

  • Choose people to stay with who bring positivity to your life, say no to drinking and alcohol, and grow your friend circle accordingly.

  • Try to interact with your seniors as they are the ones who are going to guide you for the rest of your sessions.

  • Last but not least try to join at least one cultural club and organize. In the institute, there are many clubs like Robotics, Drama club, etc. This will help you find people with common interests and will boost your overall development.

At last, it can be concluded that college life isn't about studies all the time, and you won't be getting this golden time again. So you should figure out your passion as soon as possible and start working on your skills rather than just cramming the books.
