Studied Civil Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Varanasi (2017)

Basically, it depends on where your interest lies because it should be one of the major deciding factors when opting for a college. Both IIT BHU Civil and IIT Dhanbad have more or less similar closing ranks. Below given is a comparison between both IIT BHU Civil and IIT Dhanbad ECE.

IIT BHU Civil:

Civil engineering at IIT BHU is one of the oldest departments in the country. All of the professors are well qualified and almost all of them have previously attended IITs. Laboratories are recently renovated and have all sorts of equipment and machines necessary for experiments and projects. Infrastructure is a mix of old and new buildings. Recently civil Engg. Department in collaboration with govt. Departments built a “green building” with a new concrete and construction technology. The architecture department was recently inaugurated here too. Placements are quite good in this department, a total of 77 students from civil last year. The average CTC offered ranged between 10 LPA to 58.2 LPA. The course structure is quite flexible, unlike the other colleges.

IIT Dhanbad ECE:

IIT Dhanbad recently got converted from ISM Dhanbad which added advantages such as necessary fundings for the development. The infrastructure is improving now. Talking about the ECE branch here, you have to put in quite some effort to get through the curriculum of this branch. ECE has a lot of rigorous courses that require hard work and patience. But placements are good here, during 2019 campus placement 60.40% student got placed from the ECE branch with average CTC of 39 LPA.
