I've looked into both LPU for B.Tech in Civil Engineering and Chitkara University for BE in Computer Science and Engineering, and honestly, it boils down to what career path you want. LPU seems to have a solid placement record for Civil Engineering, with big names like Tata and Accenture visiting, and an impressive 80% placement rate with packages reaching up to 15 lakhs. The internship opportunities are also quite lucrative, with stipends of 20-30k. On the other hand, Chitkara University is known for its computer science program, but the specifics on placement rates and packages aren't as strong in the data I found. If you're leaning towards a stable government job with good prospects, LPU might be the better choice; however, if you're passionate about tech and coding, Chitkara could open doors in the booming IT sector. Overall, if you want higher immediate job prospects, I'd recommend LPU.

LPU's B.Tech in Civil Engineering offers a great ROI with up to 60% scholarships available, making it financially attractive despite higher fees. The internship opportunities and solid placements, with an average package of 15 lacs and an 80% placement rate, enhance its value. On the other hand, Chitkara University's BE in Computer Science may have a lower fee structure, but the placement stats and scholarship details are less compelling. If you're focused on government job prospects and higher earning potential, LPU is the smarter choice. However, if you prefer a potentially less competitive environment and a strong Computer Science curriculum, Chitkara could be a fit.

Definitely CHANDIGARH UNIVERSITY! It's a great choice for your career based on personal experience. Graduated in Civil Engineering from Chandigarh University and was the branch topper of the civil engineering batch (2013–2017), admired and respected for my achievements. Here’s what I found:

  • Quality of Teaching: The teaching quality is excellent. Numerous technical events and activities are organized at the department level.
  • Site Visits: Regular site visits to construction sites, dams, sewage plants, etc., provide hands-on learning of civil engineering practices and emerging technologies that can't be taught in theory.
  • Infrastructure: The civil engineering department boasts modern equipment and advanced laboratories, facilitating practical work alongside theory courses.
  • Software Training: Career-oriented software training is available in the labs. Familiarity with software like STAAD PRO, MS Project, GIS software, etc., is essential for this profession. Training starts with AutoCAD in the first year.
  • Curriculum: The curriculum is designed to meet the ever-changing demands of the industry.

Overall, it’s a solid choice for anyone considering a future in civil engineering!

Chandigarh University is recognized as one of the top institutes for civil engineering. The department is fully committed to enhancing students' interpersonal and communication skills. The combination of elective and open elective courses makes the curriculum stand out. Additionally, the well-equipped infrastructure, real-time exposure, and industry-collaborated laboratories give it a competitive advantage.

You will rarely find industry-oriented subjects included in the curriculum elsewhere. It’s a fantastic learning experience to engage with industry professionals, attend their sessions, and visit manufacturing plants. Moreover, students are introduced to the modern software used by civil engineers in the field.

There is also a dedicated cell for entrepreneurship development. If anyone is interested in starting a business and pursuing entrepreneurship, this provides the right platform and exposure!
