Which one is better, IIT Roorkee electrical engineering or IIT BHU electrical engineering?

I am a student of B.Tech Electrical at IIT Roorkee. Thus, I can only provide an insight into my branch/college-

IIT Roorkee is the oldest technical institution in India. It has a strong academic reputation, and is consistently ranked among the top engineering institutes in India. IIT R is ranked 6th as per the NIRF 2024 Engineering Ranking (for teaching and research).
The Electrical Engineering department at IIT Roorkee is well-established. It has experienced faculty members who are experts in their fields.
IIT Roorkee's EE department is involved in research in areas like power systems, control systems, telecommunications, and more. Students of this department get the opportunity to work on interesting research projects, to publish their own papers, and to participate in international conferences.
The department is equipped with laboratories and research facilities, providing students with hands-on experience and exposure to the latest technologies.
The institute has a strong and extensive alumni network, which can be beneficial for mentorship, networking, and career opportunities.
IIT Roorkee has a strong placement record, with many top companies recruiting from the campus.
Electrical Engineering graduates from IIT R get a wide range of career opportunities in core electrical companies, software firms, finance, consulting, and more.

The 2023 placement stats for EE at IIT Roorkee are as given below:

IIT Roorkee Electrical Engineering (2019)

First, you should decide which branch you want to pursue ECE or Electrical, as that would help you choose the institute. The electrical engineering branch mainly focuses on the power systems and machines while Electronics is mainly focussed on hardware and working of electronic devices.

Now coming to options you have, for electrical IIT Roorkee and IIT BHU have similar course content. But IIT Roorkee has a slight edge over IIT BHU as more companies visit the campus compared to IIT BHU. A total of 254 companies participated in the placement drive for 2019-20 at IIT Roorkee. The average CTC offered was around 14.7 LPA. Whereas, the placement highlights for 2019 at the IIT BHU show, a total of 52 companies visited the campus and the average salary was around 8.19 LPA. A total of 88 students from Electrical Engineering got placed this year.

IIT Guwahati offers a good ECE program. In 2019, the ECE department had 84% placement and the average CTC offered was around 11 LPA. A total of 88 students got placement from IIT BHU last year. If you want to have the option for software placement, then IIT BHU will be the better option. Software placements of IIT BHU are better than IIT G. Also, IIT BHU offers a better coding culture.
