IIIT is the place to be if CSE is your passion.
USICT offers a dual degree program which is B.Tech + M.Tech in a span of six years. Which limits your choice of opting for a masters’ program on your own. Also, the course is not an integrated program that is for five years, so you are not even saving one year. You will have to complete your usual B.Tech in four years and then M.Tech for three years.
The following table shows the placement details for both institutions:

However, USICT is a well-established institution in comparison to IIIT Vadodara and thus, it has certain benefits over IIIT Vadodara. So, choose what suits you best.
IIIT Vadodara is a newly established institute and is at present operating through its transit campus. That clearly means it is not fair to compare it with an old reputed institute like Thapar University.
The first batch of IIIT Vadodara graduated back in 2017 and you can find the details of that batch on their official websites.
However, here is a brief overview of the 2020 placement reports of both institutes.

In terms of academic excellence, IIIT Vadodara is extremely good. However, the reason behind opting for Thapar University is because it is an old and renowned institute as a whole. Speaking of which, you should choose Thapar university over IIIT Vadodara.
One of my cousins is a student at IIIT Vadodara. I hope I will be able to help you with this doubt.
BVM is an old college whereas IIIT Vadodara is very new to its comparison. What my cousin says is, if he had a choice between BVM and IIIT Vadodara, he would have definitely chosen BVM over IIIT Vadodara.
IIIT Vadodara provides you with very few resources. There is no permanent campus and it lacks hostel facilities. It would not be surprising to see that it still lacks these two basic infrastructures even after ten years from now.
My cousin, who is in his fourth year of graduation, regrets joining IIIT Vadodara. Although the tag of an IIITian may help you in getting a better placement than BVM.
If you are getting an opportunity to opt for BVM, go for it. It is a well-established college and you will get ample resources to utilize for your growth.
Among the given choices IIIT Vadodara will be a good choice for you. This is a much old institution. The college provides better opportunities to learn and better placements to their students. Whereas, CE was introduced only a few years back at PDPU.
Here are some of the reasons why you should choose IIIT Vadodara.
Coding Culture:
IIIT Vadodara has got better coding culture. In past, students of this college have perticia[ated in GSOC, ACM ICPC and brought good results.
Placements:
The placement statistics of IIIT Vadodara for the CSE branch are also quite impressive. Here is a brief highlight of the same.

As IIIT Vadodara does not have a permanent campus yet, the campus life at PDPU will be comparably better. However, if we consider all other options then IIIT Vadodara is definitely ahead of PDPU.
One of my friends, who attended IIEST, says that IIEST Shibpur will be a better option than IIIT Vadodara. He also mentions several reasons why. Here is what he has to say,
Institute of National Importance:
IIEST Shibpur is amongst the very few institutes that are at present recognized as an “Institute of National Importance”. There are various other institutes competing for the same status, such as BHU, Jadavpur University, CUSAT, COE Pune, Osmania University, AMU, Andhra University, and more.
Alumni Base:
The institute has a legacy of over 160 years with a wide alumni network spread across the globe who are now engaged with top engineering companies in places like US, UK, Canada, and India as well. A few of them are Dr. Bimal Kumar Bose (USA), Dr. Fazlur Rahman Khan (USA). The directors of IIT Kanpur, IIT Guwahati, NIT Rourkela, and the Vice-Chancellor of SRM University are some of the institute’s alumni.
Several IIEST Alumni from USA, UK, Canada, Europe, Australia, Singapore and Japan also come forward to help regarding cases like Scholarships, Travel Grants, Sponsored Research, Chair Professors, and others to develop the institute more.
Collaborations:
Besides, IIEST Shibpur also collaborates with various top US universities, such as University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign, USA, and University of Wisconsin - Madison USA. It collaborates with top leading universities from places like the USA, UK, Canada, Japan, and Australia to help students pursue their studies abroad.
Having said that, you can visually determine that IIEST Shibpur can be considered better than IIIT Vadodara. It is also partially because IIIT Vadodara is relatively a newly built institute still establishing many sections under it.
A relative of mine used to be a student of IIIT Vadodara and he is all praise for the institute. The college has improved a lot over the years and is still improving.
The coding culture of the institute is evolving by the day. The seniors as well as the faculty will enthusiastically support you. The institute is still undergoing development and may not be able to stand toe to toe with other elite institutes but the students are hopeful that someday it will.
Major companies that have participated in the placement drive are Adobe, CodeNation, DirectL, etc. Some students also ended up bagging internships during the summer break. The internships were offered by Mathworks, Amazon, Quikr, etc.
Another big names that have offered placements are PayTm. KPGM has offered placements off-campus. A few students have also interned for companies in Germany, France, and Japan.
The institute has been gaining repute and things are looking good and they will no doubt get better. My relative has no regrets whatsoever when he graduated from this IIIT Vadodara.
As per my sister’s experience at IIIT Vadodara, despite being a newly established one, it is a better choice than Government Engineering College, Aurangabad.
GECA Aurangabad has, unfortunately, lost its touch when compared to the other old institutes. The faculty in the college does not have the relevant experience. Some of them do not even have post-graduate degrees. During the placement process, no product-based companies visited the campus and the students ended up getting placed in jobs with low packages.
IIIT Vadodara, on the contrary, was mentored by the Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology (DAIICT). It is one of the best institutes for IT in the country. The students can get ample exposure to technology and gain experience in both field and professional activities with the help of experts from industries who engage in mentoring the students. IIIT Vadodara is rapidly improving.
While all three institutes are equally well established, VJTI is accredited by AICTE, Sardar Patel College of Engineering is NBA, UGC as well as AICTE approved. Lastly, IIIT Vadodra is approved by MHRD. When making a choice between the three, students can consider placements, fees, and eligibility as well as course curriculum at all three institutes.
The following points highlight the same:
Fee structure and eligibility:
College and Course | Fee Structure | Eligibility |
IIIT Vadodra, CSE | INR 1.75 lakhs for 1st year | 10+2 with 50% and JEE Main |
VJTI, Civil Engineering | INR 82,350 for 1st year | 10+2 with 50% and MHCET |
Sardar Patel College of Engineering, Civil Engineering | INR 1.7 lakhs for 1st year | 10+2 with JEE Main or MHCET |

Placement wise, VJTI is quite well established. Students can also consider the fee parameter when it comes to making a choice between the three institutes and their interest in either course.
I have some friends at IIIT Vadodara and PDPU, so I think I can give you some information about them.
Here’s a brief comparison of the two institutes.

Now the final decision is up to you.
All three IIITs are established by MHRD and offer an excellent education to students.

Out of all the above, IIT Vadodara offers the best returns on investment (ROI). Also, the placement percentage of the institute is 100%. The companies that visit the campus are Coviam, ICICI Bank, Innovaccer, Amazon, Matlab, Paytm, Coding Ninjas, TCS, Capillary Technologies, and more.
In conclusion, IIIT Vadodara offers a lot of opportunities to learn and grow with your field choice. Among the three options, IIIT Vadodara will be the best choice.
