Are you more inclined towards IT or CSE? Having a clear view on what’s your page of interest definitely makes the process easier. However, there are some key points you might need to consider before making any choice:
Hope this short comparison of major factors has helped you get a gist of what to expect once you get there. If you think you can succeed on the basis of your skills and hard work, you can go thrive anywhere. However, if facilities and comfort matter a lot for you then blindly go for SGSITS.
I have friends from both IIIT Vadodara and SGSITS Indore, and here is what they have to say about their CSE courses.
Here are some recent statistics about the two institutes.
Institute |
IIIT Vadodara |
SGSITS |
Average CTC |
13 LPA |
3.8 LPA |
Highest CTC |
43 LPA |
10 LPA |

Thus to say, IIIT Vadodara can be a better option to choose if compared with SGSITS or any other state-level college.
If you are comparing SGSITS Indore or Manipal University, Jaipur for engineering, here are some perks of taking SGSITS:
In conclusion, SGSITS Indore provides an excellent educational experience with comprehensive coursework, experienced faculty, and ample opportunities for placements. The location and hostel life add to the appeal of studying at SGSITS.
If you are looking forward to studying the CS branch, any college among the two can be the winner. It doesn’t make much difference because both of them are of the same league. But, SGSITS is slightly better.
Reasons:
Overall, the institute is a little strict for the CS branch but is the best choice.
It would be a bit difficult to get listed in both the colleges, but in college-level counseling, there is still a 50% chance. A friend of mine got admission to the EI branch at IET DAVV with a rank of AIR 1,60,000 (general category) through CLC.
You might get branches like EI, Biomedical, etc. You can get these branches in college-level counseling or even in the second round. But it’s risky. If you fail to get in, you may have to drop a year. My friend got lucky with the seat. I will only recommend going for it, if you are willing to drop a year or have other alternatives.
The electronics branch in engineering is not doing that well in our country. If you are not from a well-established and old IIT, there aren’t that many placement options anymore.
As far as IET DAVV is concerned, you will probably get an average placement at Wipro for INR 3 lakhs per annum after doing so much hard work for four years. My advice to you would be to choose SGSITS for electrical engineering. You can expect placements in many core companies with great campus life and a healthy competitive environment.
In the future, if you are planning to appear for competitive exams like GATE, CAT, UPSC, etc. GSITS performs very well just like its placements.
Unless you plan to live in the same city after graduation, the brand name of a college is important. The NITs have a better brand name as compared to a state level college. NIT Rourkela has a better reputation than NIT Raipur, but the latter offers equally good placement opportunities.
I would recommend you choose between NIT Raipur and Rourkela, based on which one is more comfortable for you location-wise.
SGSITS is the best option among these. It is a government-funded institute and charges less fees. SGSITS, Indore fees for engineering degrees is only INR 2.33 Lakhs.
The institute has a good placement record as well. SGSITS, Indore placements have a median CTC of INR 5.20 LPA.
SGSITS is a tier-3 technological institute and offers good learning and placement opportunities.
The answer to this question lies in the option between the choice of branch and college, and which one you will give preference to.

The interest of students is very important as they should not regret it later. Their choice will shape their career in the future.
I have a few friends at both SGSITS and IET-DAVV. Based on what I heard about the institutes through them, I will say there is no comparison between IP at SGSITS and IET-DAVV. EI is superior as a branch. It has better placements, scopes, and curriculum.
EI stands for Electronics and Instrumentation. It is similar to Electronics and Telecommunication (ETC) and also has a similar syllabus with 4-5 different subjects. While IP, i.e. Industrial Production is a sub-branch of Mechanical Engineering.
According to the recent placement highlights the average CTC offered at SGSITS and IET DAVV are 5.2 LPA and 6 LPA.
If you don’t have any particular interest in a branch, then choosing EI will be better. EI offers better future prospects.
