Is CSE good at SRM Sonepat?

AR
Ashutosh Rane Posted On : April 7th, 2021
CSE B.Tech

SRM Sonepat is still in its developing phase. You won’t get your money’s worth there. There are only 3 B.Tech batches that have passed out. Most placement offers are either from the marketing sector or business analysts. Just 5% of the students get job offers in core sectors of their specific streams but with a very low package.

  • The faculty is also not that good. You can get better teachers even in certain coaching institutes where your total expense can climb up to only 6-10k for a valuable cause.
  • You can also get various other colleges at almost the same fees, such as HMR, LPU, AMITY, SHARDA, JAYEEE, SRM Chennai, VIT, and several others. They might charge you more than the average amount, but you will be provided better faculty and facilities. The study environment in SRM Sonepat is not good neither is the student crowd.
  • The Civil and Mechanical branches have acquired nearly zero placement (except only a handful of 2–3 students) for the past couple of years. The students who pass out are mostly offered jobs that are not related to their actual branch.

So, it will be better if you don’t keep SRM Sonepat as one of your options.

Is the Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology better than SRM University when it comes to a B.Tech in CS?

RM
Ritam Mukherjee Posted On : July 5th, 2021
CSE at NIT Durgapur 2022

Having friends in both institutes, I am aware of their situation. Here presenting some facts which might help you get a clear idea.

Investment Outlook:

  • MSIT can be considered better, in terms of investment, than SRM University.
  • It is because the fees of SRM University are very high, alongside the various expenditures involved with it.
  • This means, your costs will automatically double during the course of time pursuing your B.Tech.

Placement Reports:

In terms of placements, both the universities are equally exposed to the industrial side.

Institute

MSIT, Delhi

SRM University

Average CTC

INR 4 LPA

INR 10 LPA

Highest CTC

INR 55 LPA

INR 41.6 LPA

Top Recruiting Companies

Google, Infosys, Microsoft IDC, Adobe, Accenture, TCS, MuSigma

Google, Microsoft, Optum, Deloitte, Capgemini, Schneider Electric, IBM

Campus Life:

  • Speaking of campus life, both the institutes are good in their own way.
  • SRM has a very preferable campus, while on the flip side, MSIT has an average one.
  • Yet, MSIT is situated in a very high-spirited location, which gives it the advantage of having numerous places to explore.

The choice, however, is yours. But in perspective with the above statements, MSIT would definitely be a better choice than SRM University, if considering the ROI factor, besides the IPU tag.

Which is better for engineering, Amrita University or SRM?

SM
Sandip Mitra Posted On : July 15th, 2021
B.Tech CSE, Amrita University (2018)

For CSE, the Amritapuri campus of Amrita University will be better. Here are some of the reasons why you should choose Amrita University.

Academics:

Amrita is one of the best institutes in India, for CSE. The faculties are well-experienced. You will have plenty of research opportunities. The computer labs are well-equipped with all the necessary software.

Extra-curricular:

Apart from academics, you will have many opportunities to show your talent through various international competitions under the guidance of experienced mentors.

  • FOSS club was among the top clubs to secure maximum numbers of GSoC selection in 2016. Students from this club also got selected for GSoC in their first year. This club follows a method of code, share, and grow. Where juniors-seniors work collaboratively and help each other. Students from this club are mentoring students in international competitions like SHE++, Learn IT girl, Google Code Inc, etc. Many students have got the opportunity to work and study in Foreign Universities like CERN, EIT, Tel-Aviv, and many more.
  • If you are interested in cybersecurity, you can join the Cyber Security club at the institute. There you can participate in international competitions like CTF’s. The BiOs team in Amrita is one of the best in the world.
  • If you are more into logical problem solving, then the ICPC club is the right place for you. Students of the institute reached the world finals for ACM ICPC.

Should I choose ECE in SRM OR NMIMS? Should I also consider an MBA Tech course?

AG
Arnav Goswami Posted On : July 6th, 2021
MBA BM, XLRI (2019)

Choosing among the two given institutes depends upon what you want to pursue in the future. The points below give a brief overview of the advantages of both the choices, based on which you can make a decision.

  • If you want to do an MBA after the B.Tech directly, without preparing for CAT, XAT, MAT, GMAT, NMAT, etc. prefer the MBA Tech course from NMIMS. Although the B.Tech degree from NMIMS is not that good, the MBA degree is quite valuable and offers decent opportunities.
  • If you want to do a separate B. Tech and then prepare for CAT, XAT, GMAT, etc for an MBA, then you should choose SRM over the other. In addition, the ECE department is one of the best departments in SRM University, which has an excellent faculty and offers good placements too.
  • If you are interested in doing MBA from some foreign university, get minimum work experience after graduation.

These are some of the most important things to consider that will help you make a choice among the institutes.

Which college should I choose for mechanical engineering: SRM Sonepat or UPES?

PR
Preeyesh Rajpal Posted On : April 7th, 2021
Studies Mechanical Engineering at SRM Sonepat

If you are considering the main SRM campus, you don’t need to hesitate. The campus is quite good. The faculties might not be great, but there are departments where they are found to be standard.

The hostels however are not quite up to the mark, so you can opt to search for a PG. The student crowd is quite impressive. You will be among talented peers. Also, SRM has a standard placement record.

Additionally, the other bonus point is that this institute is one of the most known private universities all through India. VIT, Manipal, BITS being the other three, while Thapar RVCE and so on follow straightaway.

A brief highlight of both institutes is briefed below.

Parameters

SRM Sonepat

UPES

Average CTC

12.50 LPA

45 LPA

Highest CTC

5.11 LPA

5.25 LPA

Fees

10.85 lakhs

13.85 lakhs

If you want to go for Mechanical Engineering, then you must go to SRM Sonepat. It is due to the fact that UPES is good basically for Petroleum, Aerospace Engineering and a few of the CS Branches, while SRM Sonepat can be a good choice for mechanical engineering.
