Amrita University offers good learning opportunities. It also has a decent placement record. According to the highlights of Amrita University Placements 2021, almost 95% of students got placement offers. The highest CTC offered was 56.95 LPA.
But the coursework is demanding. You are required to do projects each semester. So, you need to keep up with the coursework, otherwise, you can easily fall behind.
Which college is better, VIT or Amrita? Why?
Among these, Amrita is the better option. It follows a rigorous curriculum that is at the same level as IITs and top universities from around the world. The student crowd is competitive. Amrita has an amazing coding culture. It organizes Hackathons and coding competitions regularly.
If you are interested in a circuital branch-like CSE, EEE, ECE, AI, etc. you can get good placement opportunities. Amrita School of Engineering placements 2021 had an average CTC of INR 5.8 LPA, while the highest CTC offered was INR 56.95 LPA.
Is there a management quota for Amrita University?
Yes, Amrita University takes admission through the management quota as well. Fees for management quota seats vary depending on the branch. But selection for these seats is done based on board marks. They will assign you a campus, based on the marks you scored in +2. Number of management quota seats is limited. To get admission through this quota, you will need to meet the respected officials at the college.

Amrita and VIT are very different from each other.
Amrita University has a controlled environment, high focus on academics, and good placements. For a bright career, Amrita is a great place. But its campus life is very dull. One has to find a source of entertainment and growth on our own.
VIT offers a vibrant and lively campus. But one has to mostly rely on self study.
Both the colleges are good for a B.Tech. Make a choice based on your own caliber and priorities.
How is life at Amrita University Coimbatore?
I have a friend who attended Amrita University and here’s what he had to say about life at the campus.
Academic Life:
- The course curriculum is great and the standards can be even compared to IIT.
- The faculty are knowledgeable and will help you with everything. However, self-study, your efforts, and participation in events and competitions, etc. will teach you so much more.
- The labs are great and have all the necessary equipment. They also allow you to use the labs after academic hours with due permission.
- The library is huge and they also have many online subscriptions.
- The exams come pretty fast. But if you practice daily and prepare with proper strategy, then exams become quite easy.
Campus life:
- The campus has three academic blocks (AB1, AB2, and AB3) and one business block (MBA).
- The campus is beautiful and covered with greenery.
- The campus has three major and four minor canteens. The bigger canteens are in AB1, in between AB2 and AB3, and one in the MBA block. There are also four minor canteens.
- The institute hosts a three-day tech fest called Anokha, each year in February. The college also hosts other festivals such as Adaviya, a theatre fest, and so on.
Hostel life:
- The rooms are better than many other colleges in the vicinity. The rooms are shared by four persons till the third year and only in the final year, you will get a single sharing room.
- The hostels have their own gyms, open ground, canteens, and an Olympic size swimming pool. The food quality is average.
The weekdays go in a blur from waking up in a hurry, rushing to the class with breakfast in hand, attending 4 classes, lunch break to the sleepy classes after lunch. In the evening you can hang out on campus, play some sport or take long walks.
On weekends, students usually go out to the city to catch a movie or some even go home. Life is good at the campus, you will be busy with many activities.
Which college is better, SASTRA or Amrita?
One of my seniors from school is an alumnus of Amity University and he was very satisfied with the BBA program of the university. He completed his course with ease with a bit of smart work.
- The BBA course aims to prepare the students for a life in management in business after successful completion of the degree. The faculty would be productive if the students are proactive in their approach.
- Amity University gives ample opportunities to the students for growth if they are willing to take the initiative.
- The university is somewhat expensive and the return on investment leaves a lot to be desired. If you are looking forward to BBA then you should start preparing for MBA from the first year itself. Most companies that visit the campus in the hopes of recruiting BBA students are BPOs or KPOs.
Overall, Amity is a decent option for a BBA degree.
Is Amrita Coimbatore better than PSG Tech?
Yes, Amrita University Coimbatore is better than PSG Tech. It is one of the top deemed universities in India. It has MoU with reputed universities across the world for collaborative student exchange. So, you will get global exposure.
Amrita has a diverse student crowd. There are students from all across the country as well as outside of the country. You will get to have a shared campus experience with many talented students. The peer group of Amrita is excellent as it takes admission through AEEE and JEE.

Which college should I choose? SSN College Chennai, Amrita University Coimbatore or SASTRA University Tanjore?
SSN College Chennai is the best option among these. It has a great faculty base. Secondly, it offers good exposure to students. The college is situated on the outskirts of Chennai, so students can easily visit most colleges for cultural programs. It has a good placement record as well. According to the recent placement highlights, SSN College of Engineering average package stays around INR 6.19 LPA.
What are the strict rules at Amrita engineering colleges?
Amrita Engineering College has strict rules regarding uniforms and attendance. Go through the below list to find out the common rules students need to follow, on campus.
- Students need to maintain at least 75% attendance.
- The uniform is a must on campus. Students are required to wear ID cards in classes and labs.
- Hostel curfew time for girls is 5:30 pm and for boys, it is 10 pm. The time for freshers is different. The curfew time for first-year boys is around 9 pm.
- You need to apply for GATE pass and a Home pass, 24 hours prior. Each student is permitted only 2 passes a month.
- Non-veg food isn’t allowed inside the campus. If caught, there can be severe consequences.
The institute is also intolerant of ragging.
Which is better - Manipal University, Amrita University, VIT or Sastra University for studying CSE?
Among these, Amrita University is better for studying CSE. It has a well-structured campus and offers decent facilities to students. Amrita University placements are good for CSE. Each year around 85% of students get placed through the campus drive. The salary packages offered are in the range of INR 3.5 LPA - 35 LPA. Google, Infosys, Microsoft, etc. are among the major recruiters.
