The IIT Ropar chemistry department was established in 2009. The department started with only four faculty members, and three PhD students. In 14 years, it has grown significantly. • The Training and Placement Cell of IIT(BHU) is actively involved in facilitating top placements for the institute's students by collaborating with leading corporations.
• Internship opportunities are also provided to the students to provide them exposure to how the industry works.
• The Placement Cell also handles all the logistics related to conducting group discussions, tests, interviews, etc.
• The placement season usually runs through the course commencing in July and continues till March.

• Prof. Rajneesh Misra is a Professor of Organic Chemistry and Organometallics. His research interest is the design and synthesis of conjugated organic molecules for organic electronics and photonics such as solar cells, field-effect transistors, light-emitting diodes, and multi-photon absorption. One of his publications is "Near-IR absorbing 1,1,4,4-tetracyanobutadiene-functionalized phenothiazine sulfones†”.
• Prof. Suman Mukhopadhyay is a professor of Coordination and Organometallic Chemistry in Biology, Catalysis, and Medicinal Applications. He completed his PhD from Jadavpur University in 2004. His research interests are Transition-metal Coordination Chemistry and Organometallic Chemistry in Biology, Catalysis, and Medicinal Applications; Porous Organic Polymers (POPs) and their applications. His important publication is- “Exploring Redox-Active Ionic Porous Organic Polymer in Environmental Remediation & Electrochromic Application”.
