The procedure to get into the NICMAR Pune is not at all difficult because you need to pass an entrance and a personal interview.
The entrance is nothing else than the NCAT, which you have to pass with flying colors, and then there will be a personal interview scheduled after the exam.
If you manage to pass the personal interview, you will get admission in NICMAR, or else, work harder for your next attempt. NCAT is not that tough. It's easy if one prepares well.
First of all, the fee structure for both the colleges is different NICMAR’s fees are around 8-10 lakhs for two years while TAPMI takes around 16 lakhs for two years.
Clearly, TAPMI is a better choice as TAPMI provides a great MBA culture for the overall development of a student. Placements wise TAPMI is much better than NICMAR, average placements for TAPMI is around 12 LPA while the average for NICMAR is around 5-6 LPA.
It will be difficult to get a job in Canada or in the US after completing a degree from NICMAR. NICMAR degrees aren’t recognized by WES of Canada and it isn’t listed in most universities there. However, construction companies from Gulf countries and some African countries visit the campus placement.
Whenever any company visits for the placement procedure at NICMAR, a notice is sent to all the students through the mail. It consists of all relevant information including the company name, job profile, eligibility, salary offered, job location, etc. Furthermore, a column is given where you can fill the expected salary package.
Any fresher cracking the interview will be offered a salary package of around 7 to 8 LPA whereas an experienced candidate will be given a salary package of around 9 LPA.
Some organizations also have a set CTC that they offer, and you will get paid that amount regardless of your experience.
The NICMAT common admission test known as NCAT is of 180 marks. It comprises three sections.
It is an objective paper of 1.5 hours. The syllabus is very similar to the level of SSC CGL. There is no writing portion as such
