January 19, 2021: Rani Durgavati University has declared to provide a fee relaxation to the visually impaired students under different heads.
An official from Rani Durgavati University stated that the university has also exempted fees for such students in the past as well. Additionally, amid the ongoing pandemic many students were given fee relaxations.

University in Charge Registrar, Dipesh Mishra stated “The decision will benefit some 200 such students who are studying in private and government colleges affiliated to the university and those students in the university teaching department.
“They will get an exemption from fees charged under heads like registration, skill development, cultural and sports.” he further added.
Rani Durgavati University is spread over the areas of Jabalpur, Katni Mandla Dindori, and Narsinghpur districts.

Professor Arun Shukla of Government Mahakaushal Arts and Commerce College Jabalpur said that it was the first university in Madhya Pradesh to take such steps to provide relaxation for the students.
He further added that his college was not charging any fees from visually impaired
students since 2005. The college was paying their fees to the university from the college funds.
