Five scientists from Lucknow University have been recognised as part of the top 2% of global scientists in a database established by Stanford University in the United States. Read the full details here!

Lucknow University Researchers in List of World's Top Scientists

New Delhi: As per the latest updates, 5 scientists from Lucknow University have been recognised as World's Top Scientists in a database established by Stanford University. In addition to this, 25 doctors from Lucknow are included in the List of the World's Top Scientists.

Scientists of Lucknow University who are included in the list are Professor Abhinav Kumar from Chemistry Department, Professor Amritanshu Shukla from Physics Department, Dr Roli Verma from the Physics Department, Professor Omkar from Zoology Department, and Professor IB Singh from Geology Department.

Congratulating scientists on their achievement, Professor Alok Kumar Rai, Vice Chancellor of Lucknow University said, "Congratulations, everyone. We have increased our numbers since last year. Let's hope we continue to fly the flag of Lucknow University high like this”.

From JMI, 26 researchers are listed among the top 2% of scientists worldwide. In 2022, three scientists from Lucknow University and 21 Researchers and faculty members of IIT Guwahati were featured in the List of World's Top Scientists.

In the ‘single year-2020’ list of Stanford University, the professors' names are Imran Haleem, Abid Javaid, Mohd Ghosh, Atiqur Ahsan, Haseeb Hassan, Md Imtaiyaz Ahmad, Rafiq Raza, Khalid Khan, Tabrez Alam Ahmad, Sharif Khan and M Ajmal Talukdar, Swapan Ahmad.

Additionally, seven JMI professor names have been released in both of the lists, which are Ali, Imran Ahsan, Haseeb Ghosh, Sushant G. Rahman, Atiqur Sen, Anjan A. Ahmad, Sharif Ahmad, Tokeer Islam, Tarikul.

The well-established Science-Metrix classification system divides scientists into 174 subfields and 22 different scientific domains in Stanford University's List of World's Top Scientists. For scientists who have written at least five articles, field and subfield-specific rankings are offered. 

Two criteria used in the selection process include being among the top 100,000 scientists according to the c-score, with or without self-citations and having a percentile rank of two per cent or above within a certain sub-field.
