JoSAA Round 1 Seat Allotment Result Released

New Delhi: The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has announced the JoSAA Counselling 2023 Round 1 Seat Allotment Result on June 30, 2023. Candidates who Java registered for JoSAA Counselling 2023 can check and download the seat allotment list from the official website josaa.nic.in.

The Counselling Process for JoSAA began on June 19, 2023. Before the first round of seat allocation, two mock rounds of counselling was organised. Candidates with their names in the first round seat allocation list must report online from June 30- July 4, 2023. The last date to respond to a query is July 5, 2023. The Round 2 Seat Allocation List will be released on July 6, 2023.

JoSAA Round 1 Seat Allotment Result: How to Check?

Candidates can follow the below-mentioned steps to download and check the JoSAA Round 1 Seat Allotment Result:

  • Visit the official site of JoSAA at josaa.nic.in.
  • Click on JoSAA 2023 login link available on the home page.
  • Enter the login details and click on submit.
  • The round 1 seat allotment result will be displayed on the screen.
  • Check the list and download the page.
  • Keep a hard copy of the same for further need.

JoSAA Round 1 Seat Allotment Result: Documents Required

Here are the documents that students will require during JoSAA Counselling 2023:

Documents Required for NITs/ IIITs/ GFTIs

  • Three passport-size photographs identical to the one uploaded during JEE Main 2023 Registration
  • Class XII performance check (Check Format)
  • Provisional seat allotment letter
  • Undertaking by the candidate (Check Format)
  • Proof of seat acceptance fee payment by online net banking of State Bank of India (SBI), debit cards issued ONLY by SBI and E-Challan by SBI [For SC/ST/PwD: Rs. 15,000/- For others: Rs. 35,000/-]
  • Photo identity card [issued by govt. agency/last attended school/Class XII admit card]
  • Admit card of JEE (Main) 2023
  • Scorecard of JEE (Main) 2023
  • Date of birth proof (Class X marks sheet)
  • Class XII (or equivalent) board marks sheet. If available, pass certificate
    • “State code of eligibility” is determined using a qualifying examination certificate.
    • Indian nationals who passed the qualifying examination from Nepal/Bhutan or an institution abroad must bring a passport. The permanent address given in the passport will determine the state code.
    • The candidates having SSC from the National Open School must bring the proof of place of examination center of the final examination to determine the state code.
  • Medical certificate [format is given in Annexure 8 of JoSAA Business rules]
  • Category certificate (OBC-NCL/SC/ST), if applicable (Check Format)
  • PWD Certificate (if applicable) 
  • OCI certificate or PIO card (if applicable)
  • Registration-cum-locked choices for seat allotment.

Documents Required for IITs

  1. Provisional seat allotment letter
  2. Class XII performance check (Check Format)
  3. Undertaking by the candidate (Check Format)
  4. Proof of seat acceptance fee payment by online net banking of State Bank of India (SBI), debit cards issued ONLY by SBI and E-Challan by SBI [For SC/ST/PwD: Rs. 15,000/- For others: Rs. 35,000/-]
  5. Photo identity card [issued by govt. agency/last attended school/Class XII admit card]
  6. Original JEE Advanced 2023 Admit Card 
  7. Date of birth proof [Class X marks sheet]
  8. Class XII (or equivalent) board marks sheet. If available, pass certificate
  9. Medical certificate (Check Format) 
  10. Category certificate (OBC-NCL/SC/ST), if applicable (Check Format)
  11. PWD Certificate (if applicable) 
  12. Passport of the candidate and parents (for foreign nationals), OCI certificate or PIO card, if applicable
  13. DS certificate (if applicable)
  14. Registration-cum-locked choices for seat allotment.
  15. Two passport-size photographs identical to the one uploaded during JEE Main or Advanced registration

JoSAA Round 1 Seat Allotment Result: What to Do Next?

After the seat allotment result has been announced, candidates can either accept the seat allotted to them or can wait for a better allotment in the next list. 

To accept the seat allotted to them, candidates need to download the allotment letter and pay the seat acceptance fee of Rs. 35,000 (general) and 15,000 (SC, ST, GEN-PwD, GEN-EWS-PwD, OBC-NCL-PwD, SC-PwD or ST-PwD)

If the candidate is not satisfied with the allotment provided to him/her, they will get the following options:

  • Float: Candidates who wish to accept the offered seat but also are looking for a seat in a better/higher preferred college or course will have to choose this option. 
  • Freeze: If a candidate has accepted the allotted seat and does not wish to participate in further rounds this option should be taken. 
  • Slide: If this option is used, it will mean that candidates have accepted the allotted seat, however, if admissions are open in a better course in the same institute then he/she will go for upgradation.
