The Central University of Andhra Pradesh signed a Tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and the Central University of Punjab, Bathinda.
New Delhi: Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Andhra Pradesh Central University, and Central University of Punjab signed a Tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This collaboration is Titled ‘The Consortium for Higher Educational Institutions (CHEIs) of India.’
The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between JNU, CUAP, and CUP is a joint venture of the union government and is based out of JNU New Delhi.
According to the vice-chancellor of CU-AP, Professor SA Kori, this joint venture would be a milestone in the progress of this university towards achieving the major goal of providing students to strengthen their knowledge and skills.

JNU vice-chancellor Professor Shantishree Pandit and the vice-chancellor of Central University of Punjab, Prof. RP Tiwari said they were happy to involve their universities in this effort.
The consortium aims to strengthen the academic collaboration for scaling up the implementation of NEP 2020, such as facilitating skilling and entrepreneurship, sharing resources, and encouraging research contributions for solving the problems of the local and regional communities.

The consortium also added that all the participating institutes recognize the significance of strong collaboration between HEIs in terms of research, academic activities, and social outreach, for meaningful upscaling of the implementation of the reforms envisioned in NEP 2020.
The consortium aims to look into the areas such as the advancement of knowledge-based enterprises, appropriate technical and management skills for future technology development, information exchange, and work towards a knowledge-driven society with human values and universal brotherhood.

The member universities have agreed to provide joint degree/diploma/ certificate courses, thereby promoting a forum for academic and research along with resource sharing. They will provide joint supervision of the Ph.D. program, internship, dissertations, and organizing combined training initiatives, seminars, webinars, and conferences to advance knowledge and enrich research skills.
The university will be undertaking a joint research project for getting extramural funding and putting in a collaborative effort to address the environmental and health issues of the region.
The vice chancellor added that the MoU will also promote faculty-student exchange and entrepreneurial activity while organizing placement drives. They will also maintain joint consultancy services.
