Who Qualifies for Tuition Fee Waivers?

Students from families earning between Rs 1,00,000 and Rs 5,00,000 per year get a two-thirds remission. EWS candidates are covered under separate concessions notified by the institute.

M.Tech tuition is significantly lower than B.Tech as per the official short schedule. M.Sc students follow a separate fee structure published on the same portal. Both groups must check the dedicated PDFs for the exact heads.

Regular M.Tech students admitted through valid GATE scores receive a monthly stipend of Rs 12,400. The stipend is paid as per the standard Ministry of Education norms.

IIT Jammu PhD Fee Structure 2026-27

PhD scholars pay a lower programme fee compared to UG and PG candidates. The institute provides a monthly fellowship through the Ministry of Education framework. Stipend amounts vary by year of registration.

Year of PhD Monthly Stipend (Rs)
First and Second Year 31,000
Third Year Onwards (Senior) 35,000
