IIM Jammu has partnered with AIIMS Jammu and the Research Foundation of Hospital & Healthcare Administration (RFHHA) to organise a joint Healthcare Executive Management Development Program (HxMDP) from September 18 to 23, 2023.
New Delhi: IIM Jammu has partnered with All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Jammu and Research Foundation of Hospital & Healthcare Administration (RFHHA) to organise a joint Healthcare Executive Management Development Program (HxMDP).
The IIM and AIIMS Jammu Joint Healthcare Executive Management Development Program is a week-long residential program, which will be organised till September 23, 2023. The program will be attended by 46 participants nationwide and features healthcare and hospital administrators.
The program was attended by Professor B S Sahay, Director of IIM Jammu and Professor (Dr) Shakti Gupta, Director of AIIMS Jammu; Dr. Harsha Jariwala, Programme Director; Lt. General (Dr) Sunil Kant, Medical Superintendent of AIIMS Jammu; Dr Ateeque Shaikh, Programme Director; and Dr Pranay Mahajan from AIIMS Jammu, Program Coordinator.
Chief Guest for the inaugural HxMDP program was V Srinivasa Rao, Secretary of Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances and Department of Pension and Pensioners Welfare, and Director General of National Centre for Good Governance, also joined via virtual mode.
Professor (Dr) Shakti Gupta spoke on the occasion and said, “Medical Administrators are often appointed as leaders roles by their expertise and eminence in clinical domains but the need for the development of core competencies related to administrative skills of their roles is most often overlooked.”
This program is designed to ensure contribution to the overall development and progress of healthcare in India. Professor BS Sahay, Director of IIM Jammu, said, “The HxMDP focuses on essential skills and competencies relevant to senior healthcare professionals in administrative roles.”
V Srinivasa Rao delivered a speech and mentioned that hospitals are not an easy place to govern and that hospital administration is important. He praised institutions like IIM Jammu and AIIMS Jammu for commencing such an innovative program in the healthcare field.
