DDU Physics Faculty and Students to Conduct Research on Climate Change

New Delhi: Faculty and students of Deen Dayal Upadhyay University, Gorakhpur (DDU GKP) will soon research climate change. The research will include an investigation into the interaction of different particles in the environment and their influence on changes in the environment, temperature, or air quality. The University announced this new step in a Tweet on March 06, 2024.

The Physics Department of DDU will receive a high-end Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) sensor from the Physics Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad. DDU GKP Vice Chancellor Prof. Poonam Tandon has also confirmed the installation of the LiDAR in the DDU GKP Physics Department.

There are various particles mixed into the atmosphere. Their interactions with each other cause various chemical and physical reactions, which the LiDAR will help capture and study. The installment of the LiDAR will be the first in the region and third in the country. The installment will begin soon, according to official sources.
