Mr. Santosh Kumar Thakur is the head of the Law department at DP Vipra Law College. He did BA LLB at the undergraduate level and LLM at the postgraduate level. He has a total of 28 years work experience, 22 years as professor and 5 years as HOD of Law.

What is the latest program you are offering in your institute/department? Which will help the students to perform better and stand out from the crowd?

In this institute, along with the law degree PG Diploma in Labour Law and PG Diploma in Administrative Law is also offered, along with classroom teaching there is home court, literacy camp, quiz seminar, and educational tour, where students showcase their talent in different ways.

What are the factors that make this program the best for students to choose?

It is known that forgetting the facts is civilized but not the laws therefore it is necessary for every person to be aware of the law, even if he is illiterate. That’s why the future of many depends on this direction. Law helps you to challenge your thought process, develop analytical skills and negotiate better and actually work for the common interest of the society. Knowledge of law provides the foundation to understand society.

What would you call the best practices in the course you are offering?

Knowledge can be acquired from anywhere, it must be collected from any source. And the knowledge of law is never complete, for that the person must keep on studying. These were the top techniques that will help any law student, who is struggling to learn law effectively. Being a good student is indeed the key to success for your career, but as we know that law is a very vast subject and it is not possible to cover it all without some good techniques.

What are some valuable inputs about the programs you are offering in your institute/department?

Every possible effort is being made by the institute to get grading from NAAC so that this institute can get the best place in the state.

How does the program ensure that students are being prepared for the future?

Students not only get book knowledge, but also get economic studies, seminars, webinars, practical legal staging. The development of knowledge is possible only by traveling and camping etc.

How have you trained yourself/the faculty to deliver this program to the students?

For this, training programs, rephraser courses, orientation, workshop, research paper, research work, seminars etc. need to be updated from when I’m not on study leave, there are days when I am teaching. These typically require an earlier start: an early morning train commute to the university provides me with the opportunity to brief myself about what I am teaching that day, to re-read notes or PowerPoint slides that I have prepared in advance. In between the teaching, I tend to do admin or finding materials for research or teaching. I can’t write while I am in the office at the University.

What type of projects are students working on through this program?

After acquiring knowledge of law, he is working to provide all-round direction in legal service, judicial system, social service, political life and development of the country.
